DraftKings Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineup Picks (8/13/16): MLB DFS Advice

Barry Leonard Jr. highlights the top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for 8/10/16. These are the top value and sleeper plays for your DraftKings MLB DFS lineups.

DraftKings has several slates to participate in since there's plenty of afternoon baseball to go around Saturday.

In this article, I will be providing you with my daily fantasy baseball MLB lineup picks for DraftKings on 8/13/16. The DFS lineup picks will range from high-priced to low-priced options and identify options who will out-perform their expectations, including sleepers and value plays on DraftKings. The following targets have been selected for all day contests on DraftKings.

Editor's Note: Purchase a full season NFL Premium Pass (including Draft Kit + DFS Premium), and also get MLB Premium + DFS for free through October. Premium DFS lineup picks, expert lineups, tools and more - seven days a week. You can see screenshots of our NFL Premium and MLB Premium and DFS tools. What are you waiting for?

DFS Lineup Stacks to Target on DraftKings

Toronto Blue Jays vs. Collin McHugh (RHP)

McHugh has been really struggling coming into today, having lost his last three starts and allowing 14 runs. Toronto is one of the top hitting teams in the league and should have a big day against McHugh. Josh Donaldson, Russell Martin, and Michael Saunders all have a good history against him.

Miami Marlins vs. James Shields (RHP)

Once thought of as an ace, Shields has been anything but. In his last outing he gave up eight runs and four homers in less than two innings of work. That performance came after he had allowed six runs in five innings. The Marlins will be looking to tee off on Shields today. Lefties Christian Yelich, Dee Gordon, and Ichiro Suzuki should all be part of a stack. Giancarlo Stanton and Marcell Ozuna are also good options.

DFS Starting Pitchers to Consider on DraftKings

Tanner Roark, WAS at ATL - $9,800

Roark enters Saturday with three straight wins and an ERA of 2.88 for the season. He gets a favorable matchup against an Atlanta team that he beat back on April 13. In that game he pitched seven shutout innings and picked up a win. The Braves are one of the worst teams in the league when it comes to batting average, setting up Roark for a good game. Add in the fact that the Nationals have the talent to provide great run support, and Roark is a must-start in tournament plays.

Aaron Sanchez, TOR vs. HOU - $10,400

The clock is ticking on how long Sanchez will go this season, but as long as he's on the mound he's worth a start in daily lineups. He's sitting with an excellent record of 11-2 and an ERA of 2.85. Despite losing his last start, he's picked up six wins in his last 10 starts. Current Houston hitters have an average of just .192 against him.

DFS Infielders to Consider on DraftKings

Catcher (C)

Robinson Chirinos, TEX vs. DET - $3,400

Be sure to check that Chirinos is playing before finalizing your lineup since he doesn't start every day. Despite having a batting average that's below the Mendoza Line, Chirinos is worth taking a flier on today in tournaments. He's faced opposing starter Matt Boyd just four times and has two hits, both of which happen to be home runs. It won't cost you much to take a chance on him at catcher today.

First Base (1B)

Billy Butler, OAK vs. SEA - $2,800

This one is a sleeper for tournament plays today. Butler typically carries a very low ownership number, which is exactly what you need to be successful in daily lineups. He's been good as of late, hitting .350 in August. He has a.313 lifetime average and a home run in 16 career at-bats against Hisashi Iwakuma. Plugging Butler into your lineup could get you some very cheap production.

Second Base (2B)

Dee Gordon, MIA vs. CHW - $5,000

Gordon has value both by getting on base then stealing bases. He's a threat to steal anytime he's on base. Playing in his favor today is the fact that he has a lifetime .750 average against opposing starter James Shields. The Miami second baseman is hitting .324 for the month and makes for a great option today.

Shortstop (SS)

Freddy Galvis, PHI vs. COL - $3,100

Galvis wasn't able to keep his home run streak alive Friday night, but he enters Saturday with at least 10 fantasy points in three of his last five games. His low season average of .230 should keep a lot of people away, but it's hard to argue with his current production given the low price tag.

Third Base (3B)

David Freese, PIT at LAD - $3,400

For starters, Freese is valuable thanks to the fact that he can be used as either a first baseman or third baseman in daily lineups. He's got two double-digit fantasy performances in the last four games and is averaging nearly seven points a game. A good price and solid recent production makes Freese a smart play.

DFS Outfielders to Consider on DraftKings

Nelson Cruz, SEA at OAK - $4,200

Cruz has a great history against opposing starter Kendall Graveman, posting a .556 lifetime average. He's been hot lately, hitting over .300 in the last week and just had a four-game hit streak end on Friday. With an average of nearly nine fantasy points a game and 28 home runs, Cruz is typically one of the best options available in the outfield.

Abraham Almonte, CLE at LAA- $3,400

Almonte has been providing solid fantasy numbers for a very affordable price recently. He's got two double-digit fantasy performances in the last three games and is averaging over five points a game for the season. He's hitting .303 in August and makes for a good sleeper pick today.

Jorge Soler, CHC vs. STL - $4,400

Soler enters today with a contact rate near 90 percent over the last week. Not surprisingly he currently has a seven-game hit streak and is hitting .412 in the month of August. His low average for the season should cause most tournament players to overlook him, but he's worth plugging into your lineup in hopes that he stays hot. He had a huge two-hit, one home run performance Friday and will look to repeat that.
