Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 4:
Chig Okonkwo, Washington Commanders
Washington Commanders tight end Chig Okonkwo (hamstring) will return in Week 4 against the Indianapolis Colts. Okonkwo injured his hamstring in Week 1's loss to the Philadelphia Eagles and has missed the past two weeks. In his lone game with the Commanders, Okonkwo caught two of three targets for 16 yards and played most of the snaps before leaving in the third quarter.
With him back in the lineup, John Bates and Ben Sinnott should see reduced roles, and wide receivers Stefon Diggs and Antonio Williams may see fewer snaps as the team looks to use more 12 personnel with Okonkwo back. Fantasy managers should not rely on him to start this week, but his return should be a major factor against a struggling Colts secondary.
Cade Otton, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end Cade Otton is coming off his best performance of the season. Last week, Otton hauled in three of his six targets for 56 yards in the loss to the Minnesota Vikings. His value seemed to be on the rise, but it'll now take a hit with quarterback Baker Mayfield (thumb) heading to the sideline for at least the next three weeks. Undrafted rookie Jalon Daniels will be making his first career start against the Green Bay Packers in Week 4.
Most of the offensive skill players will take a hit with Daniels under center. Fantasy managers should keep Otton on the TE2 radar for this upcoming matchup.
Brock Bowers, Las Vegas Raiders
Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers has returned just in time to help his team take on the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 4. The former first-round pick made his season debut in Week 3 and did not disappoint, catching 10 of 14 targets for 116 yards with one touchdown in Vegas' 35-27 win against the New Orleans Saints.
The division rival Chiefs are a different story, with a defense ranking sixth in the league against the pass (178.3 yards and two passing TDs allowed). However, Bowers has fared well against Kansas City in his career, catching 15 of 19 targets for 198 yards and one touchdown over two meetings. He is back to starter status in fantasy this week against a tough defense.
Greg Dulcich, Miami Dolphins
Miami Dolphins tight end Greg Dulcich is back on the fantasy radar after catching five of seven targets for 55 yards in Sunday's 24-10 loss to Kansas City. He had managed only four catches for 35 yards over the first two games, so the jump to seven targets is the part worth watching. Dulcich also had a 42-yard reception, easily his biggest play of the season. He now has nine catches for 90 yards through three weeks and remains Miami's starting tight end.
The waiver case is still more about possible growth than dependable production, though. RotoBaller has Dulcich 41st overall on its Week 4 waiver board, at 7% rostered, with a recommendation for 14-team PPR leagues. That keeps him in the deeper-league stash range for now. Managers in standard 10- or 12-team formats can leave him on the wire unless they are particularly thin at tight end.
Michael Mayer, Las Vegas Raiders
Las Vegas Raiders tight end Michael Mayer is still getting targeted by Kirk Cousins, but Brock Bowers' return will cap his production against a tough Kansas City Chiefs defense in Week 4. Mayer was still on the field for over 70% of passing plays in Week 3 and caught a touchdown, but had just three receptions for 32 yards.
Even with wide receiver Jack Bech (forearm) out for at least four games, Klint Kubiak's air attack will run through Bowers against a Chiefs passing defense that is allowing just 178.3 yards per game. Unless Bowers is sidelined again, Mayer doesn't produce enough week to week to move the needle in redraft fantasy leagues. He remains a viable stash in deep 14-team leagues but should stay out of all standard lineups.
