Week 4 Fantasy Football Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 4:
Oronde Gadsden, Los Angeles Chargers
Los Angeles Chargers tight end Oronde Gadsden is coming off an ugly performance in which he caught zero passes on three targets, but he's still one of the more appealing tight ends on the waiver wire ahead of Week 4. Gadsden took on a larger role this past week (57% snap share) after David Njoku (fibula) was placed on injured reserve. Barring anything unexpected, Njoku's injury will leave Gadsden in the No. 1 tight end role through Week 6, at the earliest.
Los Angeles' offense hasn't looked amazing lately, but the 23-year-old is still one of the top targets in the Chargers' offense, so he should have some low-end fantasy appeal. Plus, we saw what he could do as Justin Herbert's primary tight end last year, when he caught 49 passes for 664 yards and three touchdowns. Gadsden is a solid streaming option in deeper 14-team leagues.
Kenyon Sadiq, New York Jets
New York Jets tight end Kenyon Sadiq (back) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears. Sadiq was limited Wednesday and Thursday after his breakout performance in Week 3, when he caught seven of eight targets for 105 yards and a touchdown against Detroit. That brought him to 12 receptions for 143 yards through his first three NFL games. There should still be plenty available to him if he plays.
Tight end Mason Taylor and wide receiver Adonai Mitchell have already been ruled out, leaving the Jets short on pass catchers once again. RotoBaller has Sadiq at TE9 for Week 4 after last week's jump in usage. His questionable tag makes it worth having another tight end available Sunday morning, but Sadiq belongs in fantasy lineups if he gets the green light against Chicago.
Colby Parkinson, Los Angeles Rams
Los Angeles Rams tight end Colby Parkinson (knee/shoulder) is listed as questionable for Week 4's matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles. Parkinson was unable to practice all week but has not been ruled out despite knee and shoulder injuries. The seven-year tight end has struggled to start the season, hauling in three of five targets for just 21 yards in three games.
With the Rams' crowded tight end room, which includes Parkinson, Tyler Higbee, Terrance Ferguson (who's on injured reserve), Davis Allen, and rookie Max Klare, it's difficult for any player to stand out. If Parkinson can't play against the Eagles, Higbee and Allen offer the most value in this room, but none should be considered fantasy starters against Philadelphia.
Zach Ertz, Philadelphia Eagles
The Philadelphia Eagles reunited with veteran tight end Zach Ertz when they signed him to their practice squad early last week. The move was made after starting TE Dallas Goedert suffered a knee injury in the Week 2 win over the Tennessee Titans that is expected to keep him out for multiple weeks. Despite being with the team for less than a week, the 35-year-old Ertz was elevated to the active roster for Monday Night Football against the Chicago Bears.
In the 27-7 upset loss, Ertz only played 38% of the offensive snaps and caught one of his two targets for nine yards. It obviously was not much to look at, but Ertz should have an even bigger role in his second game back with the team going into a Week 4 showdown at home against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Before tearing his ACL in 2025, Ertz had 50 catches for 504 yards and four touchdowns on 72 targets in 13 games with the Washington Commanders, and he has over 8,000 receiving yards and 57 touchdowns in his 14-year NFL career. Until Goedert is cleared to return, Ertz could be in play as a TE2 streamer in deeper leagues. He is rostered in only 3% of Yahoo leagues right now.
Mike Gesicki, Cincinnati Bengals
Cincinnati Bengals tight end Mike Gesicki put on a good performance last week against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Gesicki caught three passes for 37 yards and a touchdown in the 27-30 loss in Week 3. The previous week, the veteran tight end pulled a Houdini and disappeared from the Bengals offense. Gesicki finished their Week 2 matchup with zero catches on zero targets after leading the team in receiving during the season opener.
Gesicki will get another chance to pop off this week against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jaguars defense is strong, but their offense may be even stronger. If Jacksonville is able to put up points against the Bengals defense, this game may turn into a track meet. With the highest over/under of the week, there should be plenty of points to go around in this contest.
Gesicki is ranked TE24 in our RotoBaller Week 4 PPR rankings, making him a boom-or-bust TE2 at home on Sunday. Fantasy managers should be able to find better options, but Gesicki could be a worthy dart throw in a high-scoring game.
