Week 3 Fantasy Football Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 3:
Oronde Gadsden, Los Angeles Chargers
Los Angeles Chargers tight end Oronde Gadsden had a promising first year in the NFL in 2025, catching 49 of his 69 targets for 664 yards and three touchdowns in 15 games played, but his fantasy stock tumbled going into 2026 when the Chargers added competition at the position in Charlie Kolar (forearm) and David Njoku (leg).
In the season-opening loss to the Arizona Cardinals, Gadsden caught both of his targets for 32 yards, and he had just two catches for 18 yards in the Week 2 loss to the division-rival Las Vegas Raiders, but he managed to find the end zone for the first time this year. The key for Gadsden going forward is that both Kolar and Njoku suffered injuries on Sunday that are expected to knock them out for multiple weeks -- Njoku is on Injured Reserve, and Kolar has already been ruled out for Week 3 at the Buffalo Bills.
With the Chargers in need of reliable pass-catchers during a very difficult opening stretch of games in 2026, Gadsden could step up with both Kolar and Njoku out, and he will be an interesting TE2 streamer this weekend in Buffalo. He is only rostered in 18% of Yahoo leagues.
Dalton Kincaid, Buffalo Bills
Through two weeks, Buffalo Bills tight end Dalton Kincaid looks like he could be on his way to a long-awaited breakout season. Across his team's first two games, the 26-year-old has recorded 12 catches for 225 yards and one touchdown on 14 targets. Kincaid was uber-efficient as a receiver in 2025, averaging 14.6 yards per reception and scoring five touchdowns on just 49 targets across 12 games.
However, he missed time due to several injury issues, and Buffalo limited Kincaid's snaps even in games where he was active. So far in 2026, Kincaid appears to be fully healthy and has played at least 66% of Buffalo's offensive snaps in both games. Bills WR1 DJ Moore (shoulder) is also battling an AC joint sprain in his shoulder, which could only further increase Kincaid's role in his team's passing game.
Kincaid still carries some injury risk for fantasy managers, but he carries high-end TE1 upside if he can sustain his current performance.
Colston Loveland, Chicago Bears
Chicago Bears tight end Colston Loveland has arguably been the biggest disappointment in fantasy football through the first two weeks of the 2026 NFL season. Widely viewed as a Year 2 breakout candidate, Loveland has opened the year with just one catch for three yards through his first two games. The Bears dropped 59 points back in Week 1, and Loveland finished that contest with zero receptions.
It hasn't been for a lack of playing time, as the 22-year-old has played at least 86% of the snaps in each of his two games so far. Unfortunately for Loveland's fantasy managers, there may be no resolution in sight. Starting quarterback Caleb Williams (hamstring) and backup quarterback Tyson Bagent (concussion) are both expected to miss Week 3, leaving third-stringer Case Keenum in line to start.
If Loveland couldn't carve out a role with Williams as his quarterback, we're not very optimistic about his outlook with Keenum under center. He will continue to rank outside the top 12 fantasy tight ends until he can string together a couple of strong outings
Dalton Schultz, Houston Texans
Houston Texans tight end Dalton Schultz carried a huge workload in Week 2 with Nico Collins (hamstring) unavailable, and he is primed to be a PPR producer all season since he's getting so much attention from C.J. Stroud in the Texans' passing game. Schultz caught 12 of his 14 targets in Week 2, racking up 140 yards against the Bengals and posting the best PPR score of all tight ends, even without a touchdown.
Even with Collins healthy in Week 1, Schultz was second on the team in targets and caught four of his eight targets for 35 yards. With Collins likely missing at least one more game, Schultz should continue to get a very heavy workload and be a starting tight end in Week 3, when the Texans visit the Colts, who gave up a big game to Travis Kelce on Monday Night Football and have been a positive matchup for tight ends this season.
Terrance Ferguson, Los Angeles Rams
After being limited with an ankle injury on Wednesday, Los Angeles Rams second-year tight end Terrance Ferguson (ankle) was listed as a full participant in practice on Thursday, according to Sarah Barshop of ESPN. Not only does Ferguson look ready to play on Sunday night in Week 3 on the road against the Denver Broncos, but fellow TE Colby Parkins (knee) could be out after missing the first two practices of the week.
Additionally, star receiver Puka Nacua (groin) has yet to practice this week and is trending towards missing his second straight game with a groin injury he suffered in practice last week. The 23-year-old Ferguson, a second-rounder last year out of Oregon, saw much more involvement in the Rams' offense in Monday night's victory over the New York Giants with Nacua out, catching six of nine targets for 54 yards and his first touchdown of the season.
Despite a tough matchup this weekend against the Broncos, Ferguson will be in play again as a tight end streamer by fantasy managers if Nacua misses another contest.
