Wide Receiver Matchups to Target For Week 14 (2025) - Ja'Marr Chase, Justin Jefferson, Christian Watson, Khalil Shakir, Jakobi Meyers

Christian Watson - Fantasy Football Rankings, NFL Injury News, DFS Lineup Picks

Kyle's favorite WR vs. CB matchups to exploit for Week 14 of 2025 - DFS wide receivers to target on DraftKings and FanDuel. These WR/CB matchups are GPP and cash game opportunities.

Welcome to the Wide Receiver Matchups to Target column for Week 14 of the 2025 NFL season. We're nearing the end of the season, so we have all the data in the world at our disposal. We'll use individual performance, matchup grades, pace of play, and implied totals to pinpoint the best WRs to target in daily fantasy lineups. Last week was a disaster as Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Puka Nacua, Jaylen Waddle, Khalil Shakir, and John Metchie III all failed to come through despite favorable spots -- that's the nature of the beast with fantasy sports. We'll bounce back in Week 14.

This week, we'll break down the top five WR/CB matchups using Pro Football Focus (PFF) grades, along with key usage metrics that indicate which players can realistically hit three times their DraftKings salary. This is meant to serve as a guide for both cash games and GPPs -- these guys are in position to smash regardless of the contest type you're playing in.

Be sure to jump into our RotoBaller Discord! We have so many different channels devoted to whatever you're playing in fantasy football. We also have lots of great NFL DFS articles and NFL DFS tools to help you win MORE this season! Below are my top five WR vs. CB matchups for this week’s DFS main slate. Use these insights to fine-tune season-long lineups, player props, and DFS builds. Let’s get to it!

Editor's Note: The FFPC Playoff Challenge #2 is back with a massive $100,000 grand prize and $203,250 total prize pool, paying down to 100th place. Here's the deal: no salary cap, no draft, no pickups, no subs. Choose 8 players, and as NFL teams get knocked out so will your players, so choose your team wisely. The entries will sell out quickly, and registrations will close on Saturday January 17th at 4:30 pm ET . Don't wait - get your team now and end your fantasy football season with a shot at $100,000! Ja'Marr Chase, Cincinnati Bengals

  • $8.2K on DraftKings, $9.1K on FanDuel
  • Vs. Taron Johnson, Christian Benford, Tre'Davious White (Buffalo Bills)

Chase has had an incredible season, averaging 20.7 DK PPG while exploding for games of 39.5, 32, and 41.1 DK points despite fluctuating quarterback production. He ranks No. 1 in targets, receptions, yards after catch, and expected fantasy points per game. He has had a few down games this year, but Week 14 doesn't feel like the time for another one, as he has the suddenly exploitable Buffalo Bills on tap and now has the talented arm of Joe Burrow slinging him the rock again.

The Bills rank 19th in PFF's defense grade, 20th in PFF's coverage grade, and 16th in DVOA vs. WR1s this season. They've slipped as of late, ranking 28th in pass DVOA despite facing mostly suspect passing offenses over their last four games (PIT, HOU, TB, MIA). The individual matchups are also intriguing, as Taron Johnson (50th of 111 CBs), Christian Benford (96th of 111 CBs), and Tre'Davious White (78th of 111 CBs) rank very poorly via PFF's grading system.

Chase has a clear path to going nuclear in a game that holds the highest implied total on the slate at 53.5 points -- he should be a focal point of DFS lineups in Week 14.

Justin Jefferson, Minnesota Vikings

  • $6.9K on DraftKings, $8.1K on FanDuel
  • Vs. Jonathan Jones, Mike Sainristil (Washington Commanders)

The fantasy football community is collectively bailing on Justin Jefferson this season, and it's easy to understand why. He is averaging just 13.4 DK PPG, has just two touchdowns, and hasn't produced a ceiling game since Week 5 (22.3 DK points).

The carousel of bad quarterback play from Carson Wentz, J.J. McCarthy, and Max Brosmer has played a massive role in his subpar season, but that doesn't mean we have to shy away from the ultra-talented receiver, especially now that he's priced below $7,000 on DraftKings.

Week 14 presents a classic "get-right" matchup for the All-Pro. Washington allows the sixth-most fantasy points per game to WRs while ranking 22nd in pass DVOA, 23rd in pass DVOA vs. WR1s, 29th in PFF's defense grading, 32nd in PFF's coverage grading, and 32nd in EPA. It has allowed the second-most passing yards per game and the fifth-most passing yards per game to WRs this season, so it is clearly a highly exploitable defense.

Jefferson will be matched up against Jonathan Jones (unranked) and Mike Sainristil (89th of 111 CBs). Jones has a poor 49.8 coverage grade and has allowed a 75% catch rate, while Sainristil has allowed a 73.4% catch rate and five touchdowns in his coverage this season.

The game holds a low 42.5-point implied total, but the Vikings have a respectable 22.25-point team total. If there's ever going to be a week where the McCarthy-to-Jefferson connection takes off, it will be this one.

Christian Watson, Green Bay Packers

  • $5.2K on DraftKings, $6.2K on FanDuel
  • Vs. C.J. Gardner-Johnson, Jaylon Johnson, Nahshon Wright (Chicago Bears)

Watson has emerged as the big-play threat the Packers had hoped they were getting when they drafted him a few years ago. He's averaging 16.3 DK PPG over his last three weeks, recording a substantial 31% target share with 175 receiving yards and three touchdowns in that span. He ranks No. 3 in average depth of target (aDOT), No. 6 in deep target share, and No. 5 in yards per reception among qualified receivers this season.

His skill set should translate to success against Chicago in Week 14. He'll line up against Jaylon Johnson (unranked), C.J. Gardner Johnson (74th of 92 Ss), and Nahshon Wright (57th of 111 CBs). Johnson has allowed an 18.8 aDOT, and Wright has allowed a 12.5 aDOT, while Wright has notably permitted a whopping seven touchdowns in his coverage this season.

The Bears allow the third-most fantasy points per game to WRs and rank 20th in pass DVOA, so this is clearly a matchup where we could see Watson explode for a huge fantasy score. Get him in lineups as a GPP/tournament option.

Khalil Shakir, Buffalo Bills

  • $5.3K on DraftKings, $5.9K on FanDuel
  • Vs. Josh Newton (Cincinnati Bengals)

We're giving Shakir another chance after he caught 1-of-4 targets for five yards and 1.5 DK points last week. He has games of 21, 12.8, 11.3, and 20.8 DK points since Week 8, so we know what he's capable of as long as Josh Allen and the Bills can get back on track against a porous Bengals defense.

The game holds the highest implied total on the slate at 53.5 points, and the Bills have the highest team total at 29.75 points, so we could easily see a classic Joe Burrow vs. Josh Allen shootout in Buffalo on Sunday.

This works out well for Shakir because he's very clearly the primary receiving threat in this offense. He holds a 26% target share since Week 9 -- the next highest target shares in that span belong to Dawson Knox (12%), James Cook III (11%), Ty Johnson (11%), and Keon Coleman (10%).

They like to spread the ball around, but this is a matchup Shakir can dominate. Cincinnati ranks 31st in defensive EPA, 31st in defensive EPA per dropback, 31st in pass DVOA, and 31st in PFF's defense grading. It has also allowed the most passing yards per game this season (257 yards).

Jakobi Meyers, Jacksonville Jaguars

  • $5.7K on DraftKings, $6.1K on FanDuel
  • Vs. Mekhi Blackmon, Kenny Moore II (Indianapolis Colts)

The Colts will be without Sauce Gardner, which means we get to target the Jaguars' new WR1 in trade acquisition Jakobi Meyers. Meyers is still priced behind Brian Thomas Jr., but he shouldn't be. He has produced games of 11.4, 15, and 21.3 DK points over the last three weeks, including a standout Week 13 where he caught 6-of-6 targets for 90 yards and a touchdown against the Titans.

His season-long numbers are hampered due to his eight games with Geno Smith and the Raiders, but he leads Jacksonville in targets (21), receptions (18), receiving yards (245), and yards after catch (85) since being acquired.

Mehki Blackmon (94th of 111 CBs), Kenny Moore II (62nd of 111 CBs), and Charvarius Ward (19th of 111 CBs) will all line up against Meyers, with Blackmon and Moore being the favorable matchups among the trio.

The Colts rank poorly in PFF's defense grade (25th), PFF's coverage grade (29th), fantasy points allowed vs. WRs (ninth most), and receiving yards allowed vs. WRs (seventh most). This isn't the sexiest matchup on the slate to target, but Meyers should be able to have a field day in this spot.

Honorable mention: Michael Wilson (vs. Los Angeles Rams)
