WR fantasy football injury updates and reports for wide receivers in Week 6 (2025), as of October 7, including CeeDee Lamb, Terry McLaurin, Mike Evans, Ricky Pearsall, Jauan Jennings.
The wide receiver position has been impacted by a ton of injuries this season. Unfortunately, things are looking quite a bit like they did last year, when injuries greatly altered the outcomes of teams in fantasy football leagues.
Generally, it's thought that running backs have more trouble with injuries than receivers. But the ailment plague spares no position, and key receivers are constantly dealing with health issues throughout their careers.
For fantasy managers, it creates the annoying scenario of having to work waivers, make free-agent moves, and potentially make trades to help your team survive and make it to the playoffs. So, let's dive into this week's most important WR injuries!

CeeDee Lamb Injury Update
Dallas Cowboys wideout CeeDee Lamb (ankle) has now missed two weeks of action with the high-ankle sprain he suffered in Week 3. He's unlikely to return in Week 6. That would be an incredibly quick return from an injury that typically takes at least three to four weeks to heal, if not longer.
Lamb wasn't put on injured reserve, so the team at least initially had hope that he'd return after just a three-game absence. Had it known he'd miss at least four contests, it'd likely have placed him on IR. But things aren't looking optimistic for Week 6 at all.
Jerry Jones told reporters that CeeDee Lamb’s ankle injury could land him on injured reserve.

Things are at least a little more optimistic now than they were initially, of course, as you can see from the post above from September 22. But you should expect to wait one or two more weeks for his return.
Terry McLaurin Injury Update
Washington Commanders WR Terry McLaurin (quad) was reported to be trending toward playing ahead of his team's Week 5 contest. That obviously didn't come to pass. He was later surprisingly declared inactive before the game. That means he's now missed two contests with his quad injury.
Maybe we're getting baited again by Commanders head coach Dan Quinn when he said this week that he's "optimistic" the WR could return. Who knows. The good news is that Scary Terry wasn't placed on injured reserve, so his return this upcoming week is pretty believable. If he was close to a return in Week 5, it stands to reason that he could come back in Week 6.
Regardless, there might be some information that we're not being told, so it'll be best to stay updated on McLaurin's situation.
Mike Evans Injury Update
Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans (hamstring) is dealing with a hamstring problem for the sixth consecutive season in his career. He missed three games last year -- four weeks total if you include his team's bye week -- with a hamstring issue.
At 32 years old, it's unlikely that Evans' hamstring problems will get better before they get worse. But perhaps the recovery time will enable him to return to the field fully healthy, or at least well enough to battle through the pain without having to be pulled from the lineup again.

Evans has now missed two contests. It doesn't seem likely that he'll make it back onto the field for Week 6. Instead, a Week 7 return is more likely. Supposedly, his current injury isn't as bad as the one he suffered last season, but we'll have to wait and see for sure.
For now, you should search for a replacement on waivers or in free agency if you need one.
Ricky Pearsall Injury Update
San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Ricky Pearsall (knee) wasn't able to play in Week 5. His team had a Thursday night game, so you might think that the early contest was the only reason he couldn't return. But the latest news about his ailment isn't good.
He wasn't able to practice with his team on Monday. His absence might extend beyond one week, but we don't know for sure yet. Pearsall has been on the injury report a few times this season, but Week 5 constituted the first game he actually missed.

Pearsall downplayed the injury in an interview back on September 24 in the above video. The game he missed was on October 2. He actually had another game against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 4 after this video. It's possible he re-aggravated the issue.
That wouldn't be a surprise. 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan is notorious for working his players extremely hard at practice, resulting in a ton of injuries, and letting them play through injuries that should probably sideline them, leading to even more injuries.
Such is life for 49ers players. Be sure to continue to follow Pearsall's status as the week progresses.
Jauan Jennings Injury Update
San Francisco 49ers WR Jauan Jennings (ankle/ribs), unlike Pearsall, was able to return to practice on Monday. He's played through multiple injuries this season, including to his shoulder, ankle, and ribs, and has battled through them all he could.
But he was held out of his team's contest in Week 5. The return to practice is a good sign. But the 49ers' reputation for sending their guys out just to get hurt all over again isn't great. Jennings' status for Week 6 is up in the air as of now.

We know he returned to practice. That's pretty much it. Stay tuned.
Jalen Coker Injury Update
Carolina Panthers wide receiver Jalen Coker (quad) didn't play at all in his team's first five games of 2025. He was placed on injured reserve before the season started. Fortunately, his 21-day practice window is set to open on Wednesday, October 8.

We don't yet have confirmation on which week he will return. We'll have to wait for that. But the team must activate him from injured reserve and move him to the active roster before Week 9, though it probably won't take that long.
Darius Slayton Injury Update
New York Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton (hamstring) is dealing with a hamstring injury. Given that his team plays on Thursday night against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 6, there's a real chance he misses his team's next contest.

He wasn't able to practice on Monday or Tuesday. He's trending in the direction of not being able to play Thursday. It seems that even if he does, he'll have his in-game reps capped to avoid aggravating his current ailment.
