Chase Burns Officially Back From Injured List
Chase Burns (elbow) from the 15-day injured list and optioned right-handers Lyon Richardson and Yosver Zulueta from Triple-A Louisville in a corresponding move. Burns, who was the second overall pick in last year's draft out of Wake Forest, has made eight starts for the Reds in his first MLB season in 2025, but he is expected to pitch out of the bullpen to help a struggling Cincy relief corps when the team resumes play on Friday in Sacramento against the Athletics. The 22-year-old missed a month of action with a Grade 1 right flexor strain and did not go on a minor-league rehab assignment. Don't expect the Reds to use him in a ton of high-leverage spots, which means he's going to lose significant fantasy value the rest of this year. Burns had a 5.24 ERA and 1.34 WHIP with a 57:13 K:BB before his injury.
