Hey, RotoBallers! I want to introduce myself formally. My name is Jon Irvin. Some of you may know me from the Discord channels, and you know I love breaking down DFS slates, especially in MLB and NHL. I enjoy deep dumpster diving, so to speak, and look forward to helping find the low-owned, overlooked, and unwanted plays.
I predominantly play on DraftKings, so some of my picks are more tailored to their point/price system, but a good spot is a good spot regardless of platform.

DraftKings and FanDuel NHL DFS Picks: First Look Stats

This looks at the average between the L25 and L10, weighing the L10 heavier to help find certain positive or negative trends.
DraftKings and FanDuel Goalies - NHL DFS Picks
Value in net is key on DK with a three-point bonus at the 35-save mark. We can afford to give up an extra goal or two if our goalie can see a steady shot volume against him. Those extra few hundred can get us those top-line forwards.
Connor Hellebuyck - DK $7.6K || FD $8.1K
Opponent - Colorado Avalanche
Getting a steep discount with a high shot volume for arguably this year's best goalie is a no-brainer. Helly looked like jelly on Monday vs. Utah, so expect a rebound to his old ways tonight vs. an Avs team he has performed well against. Throughout the last five games vs. Colorado, he has gone 5-0 while saving over 30 in four of five games, as well as three straight shutouts.

DraftKings and FanDuel Centers - NHL DFS Picks
Pontus Holmberg - DK $2.6K || FD $3.3K (W elig)
Opponent - Columbus Blue Jackets
We have little TOI data for the entire TOR2 line, but what data we have in Holmberg's limited time as the second-line center shows amazing metrics. Skating with William Nylander/Bobby McMann should help his assist potential since he rarely gets assigned to either PP unit.
Tonight's matchup could reap benefits versus a Blue Jackets team that has bled scoring and high-danger chances all year.

DraftKings and FanDuel Wings - NHL DFS Picks
Stefan Noesen - DK $4.6K || FD $5.7K
Opponent - Boston Bruins
Boston's L10 away defensive numbers are primed for the attacking with a 2.73 xGA while giving up over 11.9 HDCA/60. New Jersey looks to have shuffled its lines, which now finds Noesen on L2 with Nico Hischier and Jesper Bratt. The NJD L2 is fully correlated on the PP1 unit, which helps Noesen in TOI, which was always his downfall in years past.

DraftKings and FanDuel Defensemen - NHL DFS Picks
When selecting defensemen, especially on DK, I tend to find players with a high chance at both blocks and shots and not concentrate so much on point dependency.
Dylan Samberg - DK $2.8K || FD $4.1K
Opponent - Colorado Avalanche
Dylan Samberg charts as our fifth-best overall option tonight, making him a steal for his low price. In his six games back from his month-long hiatus, he's amassed 12 shots, 11 blocks, and two assists while skating over 22 min TOI in four of six games.
Samberg finds himself on the second PK unit, giving him a higher chance of hitting the block bonus versus a Colorado team known to fire the puck.
