Should I Drop Ricky Pearsall? Fantasy Football Outlook For Week 13

Ricky Pearsall - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups

Should I drop Ricky Pearsall for fantasy football Week 13? Is Ricky Pearsall a safe player to cut? Read the fantasy football waivers outlook.

Ricky Pearsall was a popular waiver wire pickup after an impressive performance in Week 10, but his fantasy value has taken a significant dip.

He has failed to catch a pass in the last two games, posting zero fantasy points in both contests.

With so many other wide receiver options emerging, is Pearsall worth holding onto? Let's dive in and find out.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Should I Drop Ricky Pearsall in Fantasy Football?

Pearsall's best performance of the season was in Week 10. In that game, the rookie hauled in four passes for 74 yards and a touchdown, scoring 17.3 fantasy points (PPR).

However, since then, he has not been able to replicate that success. In Week 11, Pearsall failed to catch either of his two targets, scoring zero fantasy points. Things did not improve in Week 12, where he had zero targets in a 38-10 loss to the Green Bay Packers.

Pearsall has been competing for targets with talented players like Deebo Samuel Sr., Jauan Jennings, George Kittle, and Christian McCaffrey. The 24-year-old has fallen too far down the pecking order to be a dependable fantasy option at this point in the season.

Pearsall's lack of production is also tied to the 49ers' quarterback situation. Brock Purdy missed Week 12 due to a shoulder injury. Brandon Allen stepped in as the starter but did not help the wideout's fantasy value.

Pearsall faces a tough matchup in Week 13 with the Buffalo Bills. Buffalo surrenders the eighth-fewest fantasy points per game to wide receivers.
With so many other options out there, dropping the Florida product in most leagues is safe.

Who Should I Pickup in Week 13 Fantasy Football?

If you drop Pearsall, several wide receivers are worth considering as replacements. Players like Darnell Mooney of the Chicago Bears and Josh Downs of the Indianapolis Colts are good options, and they can be more trustworthy than Pearsall moving forward. Both have seen decent target volume and are involved in their teams' passing games. They are also widely rostered, so you are lucky if they are available.

Another option is Jauan Jennings, Pearsall's teammate in San Francisco. While his fantasy upside is limited, he could be a low-risk pickup if available, especially with the 49ers' high-powered offense.

Khalil Shakir of the Buffalo Bills and Jakobi Meyers of the Las Vegas Raiders are also available in some leagues and could provide solid production.

If you are willing to take a risk, Rashod Bateman of the Baltimore Ravens and Wan'Dale Robinson of the New York Giants are boom-or-bust players with the potential for big games, though their fantasy production can be inconsistent.

For a more stable option, Jameson Williams of the Detroit Lions or Jordan Addison of the Minnesota Vikings could be on waivers and should see consistent targets in the coming weeks.

The key is to find a wide receiver with a better chance of being involved in his team's offense and producing fantasy points than Pearsall. The receiver is too far down the depth chart and too inconsistent to be counted on for weekly production, so it makes sense to replace him with a player who has a clearer role and better matchup potential.
