Top 25 Fantasy Baseball Prospects To Stash (Week 24): Redraft Rankings

Jasson Dominguez - Fantasy Baseball Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Prospect Call-Ups - icon rotoballer

Eric Cross's top 25 fantasy baseball prospects rankings for Week 24 (2024). MLB prospects, rookies, call-ups who can be fantasy baseball sleepers in redraft leagues.

Welcome to the final Top 25 Prospects to Stash article of the season here on RotoBaller. It's been a fun season once again doing this article and I hope I've been able to assist your teams.

We've had a few notable promotions over the last week, including Coby Mayo and Kyle Manzardo being recalled, and still have some intriguing names that might get the call over the final few weeks of the season.

Remember, stashing fantasy baseball prospects should be done strategically and varies from league to league. Don't leave your teams without much depth just because you want all the high-upside prospects on your roster.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy baseball lineup tools and resources:

Fantasy Baseball Prospect Rankings Analysis

Jasson Dominguez, New York Yankees

You know it's getting ridiculous when a Boston Red Sox fan (me) is getting annoyed that Jasson Dominguez isn't back up with the Yankees yet. Over his last 13 games, Dominguez has hit .359 in Triple-A with six extra-base hits and three home runs, while Alex Verdugo continues to be one of the worst left fielders in the game.

Verdugo did seem to tweak his right side, running out a groundball on Monday, so that's something to keep an eye on today and tomorrow. There is no other prospect that has had Dominguez's blend of offensive upside and a realistic shot at coming up this season.

Roman Anthony, Boston Red Sox

Okay, if any prospect can make the last sentence above false, it's Roman Anthony. The Red Sox continue to flounder in the second half and are currently 4.5 games back of the final American League wildcard spot, so this could go one of two ways.

Either Boston falls further out and brings Anthony up to give him a cup of coffee before he joins the lineup full-time in 2025, or they bring him up for an offensive boost if they're getting closer to the Twins and Royals.

Anthony has been off to a hot start in Triple-A, slashing .315/.393/.534 with five doubles and three home runs in 18 games while walking nearly as much as he's struck out. And over his last 61 games since the beginning of June, Anthony has 14 doubles, 15 home runs, 11 steals, and a .298/.376/.561 slash line. If he gets the call and is in line to play regularly, Anthony would be a priority add.

Matt Shaw, Chicago Cubs

The Chicago Cubs currently have four intriguing prospects at Triple-A Iowa: Matt Shaw, Owen Caissie, Kevin Alcantara, and Moises Ballesteros. For fantasy purposes, the order I have them ranked long-term is the order I listed them in the previous sentence. Unfortunately, not all four can come up and play regularly. In fact, there are no clear openings for any of them right now.

For 2024, I would really only consider stashing and/or adding Matt Shaw if he were to get the call, given his multi-positional infield eligibility and power/speed blend.

However, Shaw missed the last week with a back injury but did take batting practice and go through infield drills on Monday. Since the start of July, Shaw is slashing .320/.404/.531 with seven home runs, nine steals, and nearly as many walks (15) as strikeouts (19).

Owen Caissie, Chicago Cubs

The next Cubs prospect I'd consider adding/stashing for 2024 is Owen Caissie. After a bit of a slow patch during the middle of August, Caissie has picked up the pace over his last seven games, collecting 13 hits and nine extra-base hits while only walking three times.

In the long term, Caissie could be a 25/10 type and have a good shot at getting the call to Chicago before the end of the season, given the rumors over the last few weeks.

Dalton Rushing, Los Angeles Dodgers

There were rumors of Dalton Rushing getting called up this season, and while it hasn't happened yet, he remains one of the last remaining priority prospects to stash/add this season. It helps that Rushing is still mashing in Triple-A and that the transition from catcher to left field hasn't impacted his bat in the slightest.

Over his last 33 games, Rushing is slashing .320/.436/.672 with seven doubles and 12 home runs. While he won't provide any speed, Rushing projects as a .260-.270 hitter with a high OBP that can crank 30 home runs annually.

Bubba Chandler, Pittsburgh Pirates

The only pitching prospect I'd really be looking to stash or consider adding this season is Bubba Chandler. There's no concern over him getting shut down in my eyes, as Chandler is still 7.2 innings below what he had in 2023. And given that Pittsburgh is unlikely to make the postseason, it would make sense for them to give Chandler a cup of coffee before having him join their rotation full-time in 2025.

Chandler has blossomed into one of the best pitching prospects in the game this season, and there haven't been many pitchers better than him over the last two months or so. In his last 11 starts, Chandler has posted a 1.86 ERA, 0.75 WHIP, 5.1% walk rate, 32.1% strikeout rate, and a .160 BAA.

Wade Meckler, San Francisco Giants

This one is strictly if you need a boost in batting average over the final few weeks of the season. Because if Meckler gets the call, that's about all he's going to provide for you. Meckler is hitting .287 over his last 27 games and had an 86.7% contact rate in August. However, that came with a lowly 26.1% hard-hit rate and 83.3 mph AVG EV. He's a deep league AVG target and nothing more.
