MLB Pitcher Prop Bets - Today's Betting Picks

Gerrit Cole To Record A Win (+140 DraftKings Sportsbook)

The Yankees have certainly had a forgettable season overall relative to expectations, but Cole remains a prime Cy Young candidate and has essentially done what was expected of him. The right-hander has recorded 13 wins and is facing his original team at his old home park in a game that's therefore very likely to carry some extra incentive for him, making this prop at this price especially appealing.

Cole has actually been at his most effective on the road, where he owns a 5-2 record, 2.51 ERA, 0.98 WHIP and 0.8 HR/9 across 82.1 innings. The Yankees are up to -175 favorites as of Friday morning as well, and Pittsburgh checks in with a middling .312 wOBA against right-handed pitching at home over the last month of play.

New York is admittedly not the most reliable bunch when it comes to run production/support, but Cole rarely needs much to succeed and the Yanks have prevailed in nine of their last 13. Cole is also in the midst of a stellar stretch of pitching -- he's posted a 3-0 record, 1.35 ERA, 0.75 WHIP and 11.5 K/9 over the 26.2 innings spanning his last four starts, which have included a pair of outings against the Rays and Brewers.

Chase Anderson Over 4.5 hits allowed (-120 DraftKings Sportsbook)

Anderson is starting against a talented offensive team at Coors Field, which is enough to immediately turn me to Over props on offensive numbers he might facilitate. I've settled on this hits prop at a very reasonable price, given the environment and his career-long propensity for pitching to plenty of contact. Anderson has allowed 80 hits in 68 innings overall this season, including 50 over the 31.2 frames covering his last eight turns.

The Giants are in the thick of the NL Wild Card race, and although they only have a .246 average against righties on the road in the last month, Coors naturally is a solid offensive enhancer. San Francisco is projected for a solid 5.7 runs Friday night, and Anderson is very likely to be responsible for helping facilitate a few of the early ones.

With his tendency to allow hitters to put the ball in play -- he owns a middling 6.6 K/9 -- and the fact he's allowed at least five hits in nine of 16 appearances (14 starts) this season, Anderson is already a very viable candidate for this prop. One of those Giants hitters that have given Anderson plenty of trouble is Davis, who's lit him up for a .625 average with two doubles and a triple over 10 career encounters. Davis is also putting together what could turn out to be a breakout season, as he's already amassed a career-high 68 RBI to go along with several other impressive metrics, including 40 extra-base hits, across 133 games.

As already alluded to, the Giants have a robust projected run total for Friday night in Coors' hitter-friendly environment, and Davis could well be one of the contributors considering his track record this season and against Anderson in particular. Davis has also been a better hitter on the road, where he's generated 27 RBI off right-handed pitching while also posting a .270 average, .804 OPS and .345 wOBA.

Meanwhile, Anderson has pitched to a 6.49 ERA overall, and Colorado relievers have pitched to an MLB-high .345 BAA and .417 wOBA against righty bats at home in the last month.

Alex Bregman Over 2.5 Hits + Runs + RBI (+130 DraftKings Sportsbook)

The Astros are projected for 6 runs against Zack Greinke and the Royals on Friday night, and it's a good bet, especially at this price, to bank on Bregman being involved. The veteran is wrapping up another rock-solid season that currently includes a .269 average, .814 OPS, 53 extra-base hits and 94 RBI.

Bregman is averaging 2.3 hits/runs/RBI per game and has been at his best on the road, where he owns a .839 OPS that dwarfs his .786 home figure, as well as a .388 wOBA versus righties specifically. Those numbers are particularly relevant in a matchup as favorable as the one Greinke presents, considering Bregman has tormented him to the tune of a .444 average over 12 career encounters.
