DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks (5/9/23): Today's Top NBA DFS Lineups

The top daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on May 9th, 2023. Max Kulish provides NBA DFS analysis and sleeper picks for building optimal DFS rosters.

Welcome back, RotoBallers! We've got two pivotal Game 5's tonight, so it should be a great night of hoops. These articles focus on the overall best plays, which are typically more suited for cash games. However, some exceptions may apply, depending on the size of the slate.

This article will provide you with my daily fantasy basketball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel on 5/9/23. Remember to monitor NBA injury news and our awesome new NBA injuries report tool as the slate can completely change before lineups lock.

As always, feel free to follow my Twitter (@Maxadelphia) to keep up-to-date with NBA news and for my nightly NBA bets if you're into that sort of thing. Let's go!

DraftKings and FanDuel Guards - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Devin Booker - PG/SG, PHX @ DEN ($10,100 DK, $10,500 FD)

Booker was incredible as this series shifted to Phoenix, leading the Suns in points and assists in both victories. With Chris Paul continuing to miss games, Booker appears to be the main facilitator and ballhandler and is primed for another big game.

Malcolm Brogdon, PG, BOS vs PHI ($5,300 DK $5,700 FD)

This year's Sixth Man of The Year is having a great series so far against the Sixers. He's averaging 32.4 DK PPG through four games and is shooting over 50% from 3 during the series as well. This price is notably low for a player averaging that many fantasy points, and I would expect Brogdon to be one of the most popular plays on the slate.

Landry Shamet - SG, PHX @ DEN ($3,600 DK, $4,100 FD)

With the offense mostly running through Booker and Kevin Durant in Game 4, Suns coach Monty Williams elected to play shooters to space the floor, and Shamet made him look like a genius by shooting 5-8 from 3 and scoring 19 points total. Shamet has mostly been a non-factor otherwise so far against the Nuggets, but his undeniably good performance in Game 4 should earn him more minutes alongside the Suns' star duo.

Others to consider: James Harden ($8,800 DK, $9,600 FD), Derrick White ($5,000 DK, $5,000 FD)

DraftKings and FanDuel Forwards - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Kevin Durant - SF/PF, PHX @ DEN ($10,000 DK, $11,200 FD)

I know I've already spoken about how good Devin Booker was, but KD was no slouch for the Suns' Game 3 & 4 wins himself. He averaged 65 DK ppg and flirted with a triple-double in both games. KD is still capable of being the highest-scoring player on the slate, and should definitely be in consideration for tournaments of all entry fees and sizes.

Jaylen Brown - SG/SF, BOS vs PHI ($7,900 DK, $8,300 FD)

Brown has come out swinging with strong first halves the last two games, only to see his involvement drop heavily in the second half of games. He made a comment about it in his post-game press conference after Game 4's loss. I expect Brown to feature heavily in this pivotal Game 5 at home.

Al Horford - PF/C, BOS vs PHI ($5,700 DK, $7,200 FD)

Horford continues his dominance of the Sixers, as he seems to turn up against them more than any other team, especially in the playoffs. He posted back-to-back 35+ DK points in both Games 3 & 4, bringing his average to 31.7 fantasy PPG for the series. With Horford continuing to play excellent one-on-one defense against Joel Embiid, I expect him to continue seeing 30+ minutes and contributing on both ends of the floor.

Others to consider: Jayson Tatum ($9,600 DK, $10,600 FD), PJ Tucker ($3,700 DK, $3,800 FD)

DraftKings and FanDuel Centers - NBA DFS Lineup Picks

Nikola Jokic - C, DEN vs PHX ($11,200 DK, $12,400 FD)

The Joker is playing out of his mind against the Suns and is coming off what is arguably the best game of his career. After three straight games scoring 73.5+ DK points, it feels like a mistake to not prioritize Jokic in lineups tonight.

Jock Landale - C, PHX @ DEN  ($3,400 DK, $4,200 FD)

Landale saw an extended run, a combined 43 minutes in Games 3 & 4, as a result of Deandre Ayton's lackluster play. It's hard to predict how coach Monty Williams will operate for Game 5, but at his price, Landale provides an intriguing upside.

Others to consider: Joel Embiid ($9,700 DK, $10,900 FD)
