Ryan Helsley Completes His Second Save Tuesday
2 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals reliever Ryan Helsley earned his second save of the season on Tuesday when he threw a clean ninth inning of the 9-6 win over the Colorado Rockies. He allowed a pair of hits but also managed two punchouts and no walks. The dominant right-hander is running a 3.86 ERA with six strikeouts and a 1.71 WHIP across 4.2 innings, but that's nowhere near Helsley's 2022 numbers. Last year he pitched to a 1.25 ERA, 39.5% strikeout rate, and 0.74 WHIP with 19 saves. Helsley likely won't repeat that, but he has the talent to give fantasy managers tons of value in four categories as the Cardinals closer.
