FanDuel NFL DFS Lineup Picks for Week 5 - Daily Fantasy Football

Jamaal Williams - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, Waiver Wire Pickups

Dennis Clausen highlights the top FanDuel NFL DFS lineup picks for Week 5 of the 2022 season, and some value sleepers for your daily fantasy football rosters.

Just like that, it’s Week 5. However, before we move ahead, let’s take a moment to reflect on a wild Week 4, beginning with T.J. Hockenson, who had 179 yards and two touchdowns against the Seahawks. Speaking of, who would have ever thought that Geno Smith and Jared Goff would combine for 698 passing yards and six touchdowns during their meeting, a game that ended with a total of 93 points?

Hell, even Miles Sanders got in on the action, with the former Nittany Lion rushing for 134 yards and two touchdowns against the Jaguars. At the same time, Week 4 also had its share of injuries, as Jonathan Taylor suffered a high-ankle sprain, which might keep him out of the lineup for weeks. And finally, it’s Kenny Pickett time in Pittsburgh.

In this article, I will be providing you with my Week 5 daily fantasy football lineup picks for FanDuel. These lineups can vary from higher-priced players and elite options to lower-priced players and value picks on FanDuel. Be sure to also check out our weekly DraftKings DFS lineup picks and lots of other great NFL DFS articles and NFL DFS tools to help you win big! Also, feel free to give me a follow on Twitter @DennisMClausen. Let's get started!

FanDuel Quarterbacks - Week 5 DFS Lineup Picks

Tom Brady - vs. ATL (7,800)

Brady has had the odds stacked against him this season. Not only has he dealt with a hobbled offensive line, but some of his playmakers haven’t been available. Chris Godwin, who was already entering the season coming off a knee injury, tweaked his hamstring in the opener versus the Dallas Cowboys.

Julio Jones also missed a few outings because of a knee issue, and Mike Evans served a one-game suspension. Fortunately, things are moving in the right direction, as Jones, Godwin, and Evans were available against the Chiefs on Sunday night.

As a result, Brady had his best showing of the year, finishing that one with 385 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75% of his throws. In Week 5, the Bucs will host the visiting Falcons for an NFC South showdown. Atlanta’s D hasn’t been efficient by any means, so Brady has an excellent opportunity to make some noise for DFS managers, assuming he's healthy enough to play.

Teddy Bridgewater - @ NYJ ($6,400)

As expected, Tua Tagovailoa won’t suit up versus the Jets as he attempts to work his way back from a concussion. Without the signal-caller, Teddy Bridgewater will take over under center.

After Tagovailoa was carted off the field during the Thursday Night Football showdown with the Bengals, Bridgewater replaced him and ended the night with 193 yards off 14-for-23 passing while throwing one touchdown and one interception. With that said, Bridgewater is a risky option for cash managers. Yet, with a rostering cost of only $6,400, he’s a perfect tournament option.

Also Consider

Josh Allen - vs. PIT ($9,000)

Allen had his worst fantasy showing of the 2021-22 campaign against the Ravens in Week 4, but like the lyrics to Milli Vanilli’s smash hit go, fantasy managers can “blame it on the rain.” He has an excellent opportunity to re-establish his dominance versus the Steelers.

FanDuel Running Backs - Week 5 DFS Lineup Picks

Jamaal Williams - @ NE ($8,300)

D’Andre Swift is forecasted to miss his second straight game and isn’t expected back until Week 7 against the Dallas Cowboys following the team’s bye.

Without Swift in the mix, the team will continue to rely on Williams, who has been on a roll. He’s scored twice in three of his four appearances this season. Williams also had 39 touches over the last few weeks, so fantasy managers can expect him to remain involved against the Patriots on Sunday.

Dalvin Cook - vs. CHI ($7,300)

Cook injured his shoulder (again) in Week 3, so fantasy managers were understandably concerned he wouldn’t be ready to rock against the Saints in London. Fortunately, he was available and ended his day with 76 yards off 20 carries along with two catches for 10 yards.

Although that wasn’t the most impressive performance, Cook has a promising matchup on tap in Week 5 against a Bears defense that has allowed more rushing yards than any other team this season.

Also Consider

Leonard Fournette - vs. ATL ($7,800)

Although Julio Jones and Chris Godwin played in Week 4, they are likely not 100%. Although Fournette hasn’t been the most impactful rusher this season, he has been getting involved on the receiving end. He has 12 catches in the last two weeks and also scored a touchdown versus the Chiefs, his first of the year.

Alvin Kamara - vs. SEA ($7,000)

Kamara has missed his last two games with a rib injury. Despite that, he recently reported he’s feeling great. The Seahawks' run-stopping unit has allowed 154 yards per game, the fourth-worst mark in the NFL. If the veteran is going to get his season on the right path, Week 5 is the time for it to happen. Of course, Kamara will need to be cleared before then.

Devin Singletary - vs. PIT ($6,000)

The Steelers' defense has allowed 39 receiving yards per game to opposing running backs in 2022-23. It’s not the worst number. Yet, it’s not the best, either. Singletary, who is an efficient pass-catcher, could be a sneaky value option for tournament managers.

FanDuel Wide Receivers - Week 5 DFS Lineup Picks

Justin Jefferson - vs. CHI ($8,800)

Jefferson exploded in Week 1, catching nine of his 11 targets for 184 yards and two touchdowns to total 34.9 fantasy points. Yet, the former LSU Tiger had a hideous 10.7 combined fantasy points in the following two contests.

On the other hand, Jefferson put on a show in London, ending the international affair with 10 receptions for 147 yards. Although he didn’t score, he still had a solid showing. The wideout looks to keep things moving against Chicago in Week 5. Jefferson has played well against the Bears, averaging nearly 100 receiving yards per game during his career while scoring a touchdown in each of his previous two outings.

Mike Evans - vs. ATL ($7,500)

Evans got into a physical altercation with Saints cornerback Marshon Lattimore in Week 2, resulting in a one-game suspension. The veteran returned on Sunday evening for the battle with the Chiefs. He looked better than ever, pulling in eight of his 10 looks from Tom Brady for 103 yards and two touchdowns.

Evans will next square off with a team he has grown quite familiar with over the years. In his 15 meetings with the Falcons' defense, he has 10 touchdowns, with nine occurring in Tampa, and is averaging nearly 83 yards per game. Considering Evans may be the only fully healthy wideout on the roster, Brady should continue to give him plenty of attention.

Also Consider

Cooper Kupp - vs. DAL ($9,500)

While most of the elite running backs continue to disappoint, most DFS enthusiasts can turn to a receiver in Week 5. Kupp has been targeted 54 times this season, hauling in 41 catches, 11 more than Stefon Diggs, who is No. 2 on that list. Although the Rams have a rough matchup against a capable Cowboys defense, the wideout has been too good to ignore.

Deebo Samuel - @ CAR ($7,300)

Samuel’s rostering cost is a joke heading into Week 5. He caught six passes for 115 yards and a touchdown during the Monday night win over the Los Angeles Rams. With Jimmy Garoppolo under center, Samuel may continue to be the focal point of the offense, as he should be.

FanDuel Tight Ends - Week 5 DFS Lineup Picks

Zach Ertz - vs. PHI ($5,900)

Ertz has quietly put together an efficient 2022-23 campaign and remains one of the league’s top fantasy tight ends. He only had two catches in Week 1 against the Chiefs.

However, Ertz has since caught at least six passes in each game in the last three weeks. The 31-year-old will go up against his former team in Week 5, the Eagles, a team he played on for nine seasons. He should continue to get attention from Kyler Murray, especially inside the red zone.
