Is Jonathan Taylor Healthy Or Injured? Will Taylor Play In Week 5?

Jonathan Taylor - Fantasy Football Rankings, NFL Injury News, DFS Lineup Picks

Is Jonathan Taylor hurt or healthy? Is Jonathan Taylor playing in Week 5 fantasy football or is he injured? Read the latest Week 5 fantasy football injury updates.

Jonathan Taylor has gotten off to an extremely disappointing start for fantasy managers this season after being the consensus No. 1 overall pick in drafts. Through four weeks, he sits as the RB22 in PPR scoring.

Sure, he was the RB20 at this point last year before going on to finish as the RB1 overall, but there isn't a whole lot of optimism around his outlook after what went down in Week 4.

The third-year back carried the ball 20 times for just 42 yards in Week 4 and has rushed for over 100 yards just one time this season. To make things worse, it looks like Taylor suffered an ankle injury in the late stages of Week 4.

Be sure to check all of our fantasy football rankings for 2025:

Is Jonathan Taylor Healthy Or Injured?

Taylor is said to have suffered a potential high-ankle sprain, which puts his status in some serious question moving forward.

The belief is that the injury is not all that serious and shouldn't keep him out for an extended period of time, but his status should become more clear as we progress through the week.

This is the first real injury the 23-year-old has suffered during his time as a pro, so there is no reason to believe Taylor won’t come back at 100 percent upon his return to action.

Will Jonathan Taylor Play In Week 5?

Considering the Colts have a short week against the Broncos on Thursday night, fantasy managers should likely have a backup plan for Week 5.

It is hard to imagine he plays on just four days rest with an ankle sprain, so we will likely be seeing a lot of Nyheim Hines on Thursday night.

Deon Jackson is listed as the No. 3 running back on the depth chart, which would put him in line for an increased role if Taylor is in fact ruled out on Thursday night.
