DraftKings, FanDuel Daily Fantasy Baseball Picks (6/3/22): Today's Top MLB DFS Lineups

The top daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for FanDuel and DraftKings on June 3, 2022. Thunder Dan's MLB DFS analysis and sleepers for building optimal DFS rosters.

Sometimes you just have to load up on the Coors Field game and sometimes you just fade it. Last night, I hope you played the chalky Braves because they ended up hanging 13 on Colorado, while the Rockies still managed to score six in defeat. We have another Coors game on this 12-game slate, but it doesn't quite stand out the same way as we have some better pitching from both teams with Max Fried and Chad Kuhl on the bump.

What we do have today is an absolutely loaded pitching slate! There are aces galore and some very attractive pitching targets in the mid-tier as well. You're going to need to nail your pitchers today because I could see a number of these guys put up really big stat lines. I'm not sure we can afford to spend up for two aces (or that you need to do so), but I will certainly be looking for some value bats to make it happen with a few lineups.

As always, this article will provide my daily fantasy baseball lineup picks for DraftKings and FanDuel. Friday's slate locks at 7:05 EST on 6/3/2022. The lineup picks will range from some elite high-priced players to mid-priced options, and value plays. I'll give you a few of my top pitching options and then some infielders, outfielders, and teams to stack! You can also read more DFS advice and lineup picks for other sports here. It's also essential to monitor injury news and today's MLB starting lineups. Now that we got all of that out of the way, it's onto the picks!

DraftKings, FanDuel Pitchers - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Gerrit Cole vs. DET ($10,900 DK, $10,800 FD)

I don't think I've seen this many aces on a slate since Opening Day and it should cause players to spread ownership out among a number of very worthy pitchers. I always like to give my recommendation for the top raw points play for cash games first, and I think that has to be Cole today. While I am a huge Shane McClanahan fan and the Burnes-Musgrove duel looks tasty, I think Cole is hands down the cash game choice here based on some massive -320 Vegas odds to win and an elite matchup against the Tigers who continue to struggle at the plate.

Detroit has simply been abysmal at the plate this year despite bringing in some new bats. To be fair they've battled their share of injuries, too, but their season-long stats against righties are some of the worst in the league and their recent trends aren't much better. Over the last two weeks, they are still striking out over 25% of the time, good for third-most in baseball. Cole has been in great form now for seven straight starts, making his first three games in which he struggled seem like distant memories. I'd fire him up with confidence today, his strikeouts should be there and he has a ton of win equity here for our FanDuel players who really need the QS and the win on that platform.

Nathan Eovaldi @ OAK ($8,000 DK, $8,800 FD)

I wanted to recommend a pitcher from the mid-tier and while Logan Gilbert really stands out on DraftKings and JT Brubaker is way too cheap on FanDuel, I have to roll with Eovaldi here against Oakland on the road. Since his blowup start against Houston on May 17th, Eovaldi has come back with authority and whiffed 17 hitters in two starts which included a complete-game effort against Baltimore. He's thrown over 100 pitches in each of those starts and it's good to see Boston allowing him to be an innings eater and workhorse this season.

Oakland isn't "Detroit-level bad" but they are definitely an offense to target, specifically with RHP. Eovaldi is a pretty big road favorite at -163 and should get some offense to support his efforts as Boston's bats have been surging over the last month. He's a nice SP2 option on DK and I think a solid GPP target on FanDuel at this price point.

Also consider: Corbin Burnes, Logan Gilbert, JT Brubaker

DraftKings, FanDuel Infielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Jose Ramirez - 3B, CLE vs. Bruce Zimmermann ($5,800 DK, $4,600 FD)

I promise I won't choose all pricey hitters, I find that annoying when touts do that because as a player you are like, "how the hell am I going to fit all these guys in the same lineup?" If we are paying up for some good pitching today we will need value and I'd definitely consider some of J-Ram's teammates there as the rest of the Cleveland lineup is pretty affordable. But if I can fit one stud in today, I think it's Ramirez. He absolutely crushes LHP and Zimmermann is a guy who has allowed quite a few home runs both this year and last. Ramirez is even stealing bases like crazy again, with three steals in his last five games. He's simply incredible and I think his price and the fact that this is such a big slate may drive his ownership down.

Matt Carpenter - 1B/3B, NYY vs. Elvin Rodriguez ($3,300 DK, $2,500 FD)

I'm not sure if it was the magic of just putting on the pinstripes or having to shave this beard and now sporting a super-weird-looking 'stache, but Carp is enjoying a renaissance of sorts in Brooklyn. He's hit three homers in his first six games as a Yankee and the short porch in right field has been very kind to him so far. The Yankees have a solid 5.5-run implied team total and if we are hunting for value, then grabbing some Carp shares could help us get access to that total without breaking the bank. He's eligible at 1B or 3B, so you can still slot in a stud into the other corner infield slot whether that's J-Ram at third base or someone like Guerrero at first.

Santiago Espinal - 2B, TOR vs. Chi Chi Gonzalez ($3,600 DK, $2,500 FD)

Chi Chi Gonzalez is back in our lives! Maybe for one night only, so let's get those Toronto bats in some lineups! All joking aside, Gonzalez was one of the worst pitchers in baseball during his time with Colorado and maybe he's improved a bit in the Twins minor league system, but I doubt it. Let's talk about Espinal, though, as he's been a nice player for Toronto this season. They recently moved him up in the order and he hasn't disappointed as he hit his third home run of the season on Wednesday and then followed that up with a 3-5 day at the dish yesterday. If he leads off again or perhaps hits second, he should be in a great spot to produce tonight.

DraftKings, FanDuel Outfielders - MLB DFS Lineup Picks

Aaron Judge - OF, NYY vs. Elvin Rodriguez ($5,700 DK, $4,400 FD)

I know, I know - I said not too many high-priced bats today BUT this Aaron Judge against a fastball/slider RHP, people! Judge has been simply amazing this season as he continues to lead the league in barrels and I always target him against righties who throw the fastball/slider combo as he just demolishes those pitches. Rodriguez hasn't shown much since coming up and the Yanks could jump all over him today.

Alex Verdugo - OF, BOS vs. James Kaprielian ($3,400 DK, $2,800 FD)

Verdugo looked unstoppable for about 2-3 weeks back in April and then went into a massive slump right afterward. But lately, he's starting to hit again, and perhaps he's just a streaky hitter. His overall numbers on the season are still solid as he's sporting a .364 wOBA against RHP and only a 13% K rate. Kaprielian continues to struggle with lefties this year and gives up too many fly balls as well as hard contact, I like Verdugo here a lot at his price in this match-up.

Taylor Trammell - OF, SEA vs. Dane Dunning ($2,000 DK, $2,300 FD)

Trammell has been my favorite punt play now for almost a week. He continues to hit and find his way on base for Seattle, putting up fantasy points in every start but one since moving into the starting lineup.

Oscar Gonzalez - OF, CLE vs. Bruce Zimmermann ($2,000 DK, $2,600 FD)

Gonzalez has been hitting fifth for the Guardians and has made a pretty big impact in his first handful of starts. If you're looking for another bat that is basically free on DK, he makes a lot of sense here as he's scored something in every game but one that he's appeared in so far.

DraftKings, FanDuel MLB DFS Stacks

Here are my top stacks for tonight (in the order in which I like them)

Atlanta Braves - DUH! They scored 13 last night and are in Coors again tonight. Even in Kuhl is decent, the Rockies bullpen is TERRIBLE.

Toronto Blue Jays - Gonzalez has never been good, so I would be really surprised if all of a sudden he is now. Toronto has a 5.7 implied run total and finally seems to be heating back up.

Tampa Bay Rays - I will ALWAYS stack against Vince Velasquez, he's the perfect pitcher to pick on as he allows a ton of hard contact and fly balls, that is usually a recipe for some home runs for the opposing team.

I hope I gave you a head start on your research today and I wish you the best of luck! If you ever have questions about DFS or fantasy baseball, my DMs are always open and I appreciate you taking the time to read my picks today.
