Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 6:
Justin Fields, QB, New York Jets
New York Jets quarterback Justin Fields completed 32 of 46 pass attempts for 283 yards, two touchdowns, and zero interceptions during Sunday's Week 5 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. He took five sacks but also rushed for 26 yards.
Although the Jets are 0-5 this season, Fields has been quite productive from a fantasy perspective. In the three games where he has been fully healthy, Fields is averaging 28.2 fantasy points. He has seven total touchdowns and zero interceptions this year, though he also has two lost fumbles to his name.
We've known about his rushing ability for quite some time, but we're also starting to see flashes of what he can do throwing the football -- even if it comes in garbage time. The Ohio State product is a mid-to-low fantasy QB1 for Week 6 against a strong Denver Broncos defense.
Drake Maye, QB, New England Patriots
New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye remains a must-start fantasy option heading into Week 6 against the New Orleans Saints. The 23-year-old ranks as the overall QB7 this season, racking up nine total touchdowns and just two interceptions.
He has three touchdowns in two different games this season and also helped take down the NFL's only remaining undefeated team, the Buffalo Bills, last Sunday night. Maye has made huge strides in the start of his first full NFL season, showing signs of a very bright future.
In the short term, he has a very favorable outlook this week against the Saints. Maye's track record pairs well with New Orleans' defense allowing the third-most passing touchdowns and eighth-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks in 2025.
Jordan Love, QB, Green Bay Packers
Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love had an awesome game for fantasy managers who started him in Week 4 against Dallas, tossing three touchdown passes to wide receiver Romeo Doubs and piling up 337 passing yards. He'll look to continue that strong play in Week 6 when the Packers host the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 6.
Love finished as fantasy's QB6 in Week 4, his first weekly finish as a top-ten quarterback since Week 6 of last season. It was also Love's first game with over 40 passing attempts since Week 4 of 2024. Passing volume isn't a regular thing for the Packers; it's more of an exception rather than the rule.
If you're starting Love in Week 6, you're hoping the Bengals can score a bit, so the Packers get pushed to pass a bit more. Ultimately, Love is a viable starting quarterback for fantasy managers against a porous Bengals defense.
Sam Darnold, QB, Seattle Seahawks
Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold is in a great position to succeed in Week 6 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. While the Jaguars have played solid defense to open the season, they have allowed opposing quarterbacks to enjoy solid fantasy days, especially over the last two weeks.
Darnold has found his groove in Seattle. He is coming off a 341-yard and four-touchdown performance in Week 5 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Seahawks' defense should have an easier time containing the Jaguars' offense this week, which would reduce the need for high passing volume.
However, Darnold's efficiency should not falter in this game. With so many injuries and uncertainties with fantasy quarterbacks this season, Darnold is a great bet to remain steady for your team. Start him as a low-end QB1 in Week 6.
