Fantasy Football Matchup Outlooks
Below are some fantasy football outlooks written by our NFL team here at RotoBaller, bringing you their fantasy football analysis and advice on which players to consider starting in Week 16:
Jayden Reed, WR, Green Bay Packers
Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed recorded five catches for 55 yards on six targets in his team's Week 15 loss to the Denver Broncos. In his second game back after missing nearly three months due to collarbone and foot injuries, Reed saw his snap share increase from 47% of Green Bay's offensive snaps in Week 14 to 65% in Week 15. The 25-year-old's playing time outlook was also improved by an injury to Packers wideout Christian Watson (chest), who left the game early with a chest injury.
Watson has reportedly avoided a long-term injury, but his status is in question for the team's Week 16 matchup against the Chicago Bears. If Watson is sidelined, Reed could operate as the team's top target-earner in Week 16. Even if Watson can play, Reed has upside as he works his way back to full health and gets re-integrated into the Green Bay offense. In fantasy leagues where he remains available, Reed is a must-add waiver wire target heading into Week 16.
Adonai Mitchell, WR, New York Jets
Most fantasy managers were probably avoiding all of the New York Jets' offensive skill players with rookie quarterback Brady Cook making his first career start in Week 15 against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. Wide receiver Adonai Mitchell still managed to produce for fantasy managers who were brave enough to start him, as he finished with six catches on nine targets for a team-high 58 yards and a touchdown in the 48-20 loss. His six receptions tied for the team high, while his nine targets and 58 receiving yards led the team.
The 23-year-old also carried the football one time for a loss of four yards. It's not always going to be pretty the rest of the way for Mitchell with New York's less-than-ideal QB situation, but he proved on Sunday that he's a weekly flex consideration. In his five games with the Jets, he's been targeted 40 times and has 18 catches for 236 yards and two touchdowns.
Rashid Shaheed, WR, Seattle Seahawks
Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Rashid Shaheed had five catches for 74 yards on seven targets in the Week 15 win over the Indianapolis Colts. Shaheed hadn't been a big part of the offense in the first four games after being acquired from the New Orleans Saints at the trade deadline, playing 47.9% of the snaps and totalling just four receptions for 37 yards on 11 targets.
His role has expanded in the past two games as he's gotten more acclimated in the offense, with nine catches for 141 yards on 12 targets. Notably, his snap share spiked to 68.3% in Week 15, his highest mark with Seattle by 12 percentage points. Shaheed's 18.2% target share in the past two weeks is second only to Jaxon Smith-Njigba for Seattle, and his big-play ability makes him worth a look off the waiver wire, as he could be in for a nice finish to the season.
Romeo Doubs, WR, Green Bay Packers
Green Bay Packers wide receiver Romeo Doubs could get more work in the coming weeks, depending on the status of Christian Watson (chest). Watson left the team's loss to the Broncos after landing hard on his left shoulder while battling cornerback Patrick Surtain II for a jump ball. He was taken by ambulance to a local hospital for further examination, but he was able to fly home with the team and could avoid missing time.
Doubs finished with only two catches for 36 receiving yards on Sunday, but he filled in more effectively earlier this season when Watson was sidelined. If you need receiver depth, adding Doubs makes sense if Watson misses any time. In Week 16, the Packers face the Bears in a very important divisional matchup, so watch the Packers' practice report for Watson's status this week.
Jauan Jennings, WR, San Francisco 49ers
San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings scored two touchdowns in Sunday's 37-24 win over the Titans. Jennings' day was propped up by the scores as he finished with just three catches for 37 receiving yards on five targets. This fits the mold of a trend that has been in the works for the last several weeks. Jennings is now up to six touchdowns in the 49ers' last six games, but in that span, he has averaged 47.2 yards and 4.3 receptions per game, making his fantasy production extremely reliant on touchdowns.
Jennings may be in for a more balanced game in Week 16, when the 49ers face the Colts. Indianapolis has given up the most receptions and second-most receiving yards to opposing wide receivers in 2025. He projects as a WR2 candidate for the semi-final round of the fantasy football playoffs.
