Who should I start for Week 15? Fantasy football outlooks for Braelon Allen, Isaiah Davis, Travis Etienne Jr. Our expert fantasy football start 'em, sit 'em picks.
Not all fantasy football rosters are loaded to the brim with RB1 and RB2 talents who are must-starts heading into the first game of the fantasy playoffs. Players who don't fit into those categories still have a place on fantasy football rosters for a variety of reasons, though it can be uncomfortable having to start one.
New York Jets running backs Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis and Jacksonville Jaguars RB Travis Etienne Jr. certainly fit that mold, but due to injuries to other backs, lack of roster depth, or whatever reason, the three of them have found their way into plenty of starting lineups for Week 15.
Let's break down which ones you should start, which should be benched, and why.
Should I Start Braelon Allen for Fantasy Football?
UPDATE: Hall is officially ACTIVE. Allen is no longer recommended in starting lineups
The matchup this week is excellent for the New York Jets -- they get to face the Jacksonville Jaguars, who have one of the league's worst defenses. Allen seems fine as an RB3/flex in leagues with 12 or more teams here, though most playoff rosters likely will have better options. But this is only if lead back Breece Hall (knee) doesn't play - and it now is looking like Hall will actually play in Week 15.

He played a decent game against the Miami Dolphins in Week 14, thought the backfield was an ugly split between him and the next RB we'll mention.
Breece Hall is now expected to play.

Should I Start Isaiah Davis for Fantasy Football?
UPDATE: Hall is officially ACTIVE. Davis is no longer recommended in starting lineups
Isaiah Davis seems to be in a similar tier to Allen -- both later-round rookie backs with plenty of questions coming out of a weak overall class. He did score a 17-yard touchdown, but he handled 13 touches while Allen had 15, and was inefficient overall on the day.

They both looked better than expected and are less-than-terrible options due to the easy matchup, at least. We wouldn't recommend that you start either -- unless Breece Hall doesn't end up playing, and you're in a league with 12 or more teams and have a weak overall roster or are looking for an injury replacement. Under these circumstances only, we would give slight preference to Allen since he handled more touches last week.
Should I Start Travis Etienne Jr. for Fantasy Football?
Etienne has been a massive bust this season, ranking as just the RB37 of the year. Even though he missed two games, last year's PPR RB3 fell off massively after a huge campaign in 2023. He did have a barely serviceable game against the Tennessee Titans in Week 14 when he rushed four times for 20 yards and caught four passes for 50 yards.
At this point, Tank Bigsby may be the running back you want over Travis Etienne Jr.

Still, RB Tank Bigsby is the primary runner for this team. He rushed 18 times for 55 yards and a touchdown in the team's narrow win. There isn't much reason to be confident in Etienne, who hasn't looked like himself this season. He could be dealing with undisclosed injuries.
His upside is extremely low, and you should look elsewhere for flex options. God help you if you have no other options at RB. The matchup with the Jets isn't too bad, but who knows how much volume he'll even get.
