Seattle Kraken defenseman Ryker Evans (upper body) will miss the start of the season, the team announced Wednesday. He has been ruled out for 6-8 weeks with an upper-body injury. The Kraken are set to be without him until at least mid-November. Brandon Montour (ankle) and Vince Dunn (undisclosed) aren't fully healthy either, leaving Seattle's blue line in a bad spot ahead of next week's season opener. Luckily for the team, Montour is expected to be available against the Anaheim Ducks on Oct. 9, and Dunn could also be good to go, as he's regarded as day-to-day. Evans' injury will likely give Josh Mahura or Ville Ottavainen a chance to impress early in the year.--Taavi Pailk
