Are Things Beginning to Turn Around For Max Homa Ahead of Sanderson Farms?
After an ugly year on the PGA Tour, Max Homa turned in a solid T19 at the Procore Championship a few weeks ago, thanks to a good time on the greens and decent approach play. Ball striking as a whole was a real struggle early in the year, but the 34-year-old has gone on to average +0.665 in strokes gained on approach over his last six starts, where stats were provided (excludes one event). He's also averaged +0.620 strokes gained off the tee over his previous four measured starts. Putting and short game remain a struggle, which are really the last pieces of the puzzle to seeing him back on leaderboards. This isn't to say he is a smash-play given the recent trends, but there are certainly riskier options with unknown upside compared to a proven commodity like Homa.
