A.J. Brown Injury Update
Following the Week 7 contest against the Minnesota Vikings, Brown was added to the Eagles' injury report with a hamstring injury. Despite playing 92% of the offensive snaps (46 of 50) and posting a season-high 121 receiving yards with two touchdowns against Minnesota, Brown did not practice at all during prep for Week 8.
He displayed no signs of injury during the Minnesota contest and played through the final offensive snap, catching a 45-yard pass from Jalen Hurts with under two minutes left to secure the victory.
Brown was ruled out for the Week 8 matchup against the New York Giants, but according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the WR is likely to return after the Eagles' Week 9 bye for their Week 10 Monday Night Football matchup against the Green Bay Packers.
A.J. Brown Fantasy Football Outlook
Through the first seven games of the season, Brown has been productive but inconsistent. Even when leading the Eagles in targets with 51 and catching 29 receptions for 395 yards and three touchdowns, these numbers are a dip from his typical elite production. After a slow start, he found his rhythm in Weeks 6 and 7, catching 10 passes for 201 yards and two touchdowns.
AJ Brown is one of, if not the, most popular guys on the team. Players gravitate towards him in the locker room before & after any social media posts.
He's not a team cancer, he's a team Captain.

During his absence in Week 8, WR DeVonta Smith emerged as the primary focus point of Hurts' passing attack. Smith has been the more consistent fantasy option this season, leading the team with more receptions and yards than Brown. Other pass-catchers who saw increased opportunities include tight end Dallas Goedert and depth receivers Jahan Dotson and rookie Darius Cooper, though none provide the explosive big-play ability that Brown brings.
When Brown returns in Week 10, he should immediately reclaim his role as one of Jalen Hurts' top two targets. The matchup against Green Bay on Monday Night Football provides an excellent opportunity for Brown to showcase he's fully healthy.

The biggest concern for Brown is his history with hamstring injuries. These types of soft-tissue injuries tend to linger and can be re-aggravated if a player returns too quickly. The fact that the injury is related to scar tissue from his previous hamstring issues in training camp is particularly worrisome.
Fantasy managers in 12-team formats should hold Brown through the bye week, as he remains a potential WR1 when healthy. If he can stay healthy coming out of the bye, his big-play ability and chemistry with Hurts make him a viable starter in most formats, but managers should monitor his health closely throughout the remainder of the season.
