John Johnson's five fantasy football bold predictions for Week 6 of the 2025 NFL season. Expert predictions for Garrett Wilson, Marvin Mims Jr., George Pickens, more.
Making bold predictions is always fun as a fantasy writer. When you get them right, you get to look like a genius, and when you're wrong, you look pretty uninformed!
That said, sometimes bold predictions aren't all that bold. Predicting elite players to have great games against bad defenses is mostly the opposite of bold.
I won't be doing that in this article, don't worry, but I will be trying to go against the grain a bit with these takes, so if you're interested, let's dive into my biggest bold predictions for Week 6!

Garrett Wilson Scores 20+ PPR Fantasy Points Again
Despite having to square off against cornerback Pat Surtain II, one of the best cover corners in all of football, I expect New York Jets wide receiver Wilson to keep the good times rolling for his fantasy managers and put up great production. There are a few reasons for this.
For starters, the Jets love to pad their stats in garbage time. Last week, Wilson had a touchdown late in his team's blowout loss to the Dallas Cowboys. Jets quarterback Justin Fields tends to lock on to his No. 1 target, and pass the ball heavily when they're down multiple scores, even if the game is out of reach.

Wilson is one of the league's best receivers, and finally has a QB willing to force the ball to him 8-12 times per game. That's all he needs to be highly productive in fantasy football. The Jets are a team in shambles, and will face one of the league's better offenses this week.
It's honestly completely fine if they get blown out and go down three or more scores in the fourth quarter. It might even be preferable, because the Broncos defense will likely take their foot off the gas in that case, allowing Wilson and Fields to easily drive down the field and rack up fantasy points.
Marvin Mims Jr. Has Another Big Day
The coverage matchup for Mims against the New York Jets is a good one, and he has a chance of being the most productive receiver for the Broncos in Week 6. Obviously, it's more reasonable to expect Sutton to do that, but Mims could easily outpace fellow Broncos WR Troy Franklin.
Mims hasn't had the biggest role in his offense, but he's been separating from man coverage well above league-average. Teams with elite cornerbacks can get away with running more man coverage, and Jets CB Sauce Gardner is one of the best defensive backs in the league.

Broncos head coach Sean Payton is excellent at exploiting advantageous schematic matchups on offense, so I expect a few designed looks to head Mims' way and a healthy target share this game. Mims could eclipse 15.0 PPR fantasy points and I wouldn't be very surprised.
Franklin, unfortunately, hasn't done much to be fantasy relevant outside of one 24.0 point performance, so he's not a giant barrier to Mims' potential production.
Jalen Coker Eclipses 15 PPR Fantasy Points (If He Plays)
Carolina Panthers wide receiver Jalen Coker (quad) had his 21-day practice window opened on Wednesday. He's been on injured reserve since before the start of the season, and has missed all five of his team's games so far. He was initially projected to be out between four and six weeks.
It's not known exactly how far along with his recovery he is, but the Panthers have a fantastic matchup in Week 6 coming up. They'll face the Dallas Cowboys, who have been one of the worst defenses against receivers in the NFL this season.

Panthers quarterback Bryce Young has struggled massively this season, but one potential reason is that his receiving corps is one of the NFL's worst. Other than rookie wideout Tetairoa McMillan, who's looked excellent so far this year, there's basically no one else consistently making an impact at the TE or WR positions there.
Coker had a nice rookie season despite being undrafted, and last season, he scored 21.0 PPR fantasy points in his matchup against the Cowboys by catching four passes for 110 yards and a long touchdown. And that was a much better iteration of Dallas' defense -- they still had star linebacker Micah Parsons on their roster back then.

The Cowboys have been absolutely abysmal on pass defense this year, busting coverages constantly. The new zone scheme employed by defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus isn't like the man coverage they've heavily run in previous seasons, and the results have been disastrous.
Dallas is allowing the eighth-most fantasy points per game to opposing slot receivers. Both Coker and McMillan should have good days against them if they're both on the field.
Matthew Golden Goes Over 70 Receiving Yards
While Golden's 2025 season has been nothing but a disappointment so far, and the Packers are an infuriating pass offense to buy into due to their preference to spread the ball around as much as possible, this could finally be the game that Golden breaks out in.
Green Bay will face the Cincinnati Bengals, who have had one of the NFL's worst defenses. They've been gashed in both phases of the game, and through five contests, they've allowed 31.2 points per game, which is third-worst in the NFL.

Golden has made some nice plays this season, and on a small sample size of routes, has plenty of reps where he's generated massive separation. In my film analysis of Golden as a college player, I noted his lack of route-running prowess, but against a poor defense, his athleticism could easily make up for that.
Green Bay loves to attack schematic mismatches in their games. It's the reason Packers WR Romeo Doubs had three touchdown catches in their Week 4 tie with the Dallas Cowboys. This matchup should benefit Golden -- his raw speed can help him win against the Bengals less athletic defensive backs.
George Pickens Exceeds 100 Receiving Yards, Scores Touchdown
In what is likely to be the final, or at least second-to-last, game for Dallas before their WR1 returns, Pickens could have another monster game. CeeDee Lamb (ankle) is unlikely to play in Week 6, meaning Pickens is set to get another crack at serving as the team's WR1.
In three contests with Lamb sidelined for all or most of the game, Pickens has scored 17.8, 33.4, and 13.7 PPR fantasy points. Over that span, he ranks third in the league in points scored by a receiver, behind only Emeka Egbuka and Puka Nacua.

Now finally in a good offensive environment, and functioning as the team's clear WR1 when Lamb is absent, Pickens is one of fantasy football's hottest assets. And he'll face the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, who have been floundering as a team overall.
Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott has been playing like one of the best QBs in the NFL. New Dallas head coach Brian Schottenheimer has unleashed the playbook and coached up the offensive line to new heights. They've been playing fantastic football.

The Cowboys are basically the 2025 version of the 2024 Cincinnati Bengals -- an offensive juggernaut with a very porous defense that's constantly forced into shootout games. And that's dynamite for fantasy football. Pickens is a must-start and easy week-winning pick for Week 6.
