BALLER MOVE: Flex option all in formats
POSITIONAL VALUE: Risky, high-ceiling fantasy wideout
ANALYSIS:
In one of the top rivalries in the National Football League, Kansas City and Cincinnati will go toe-to-toe for the fifth time in nearly two years. Unlike previous contests, both teams are in much different positions. Without question, Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and the rest of the Chiefs' offense have floundered at times throughout the 2023-24 campaign, resulting in Kansas City entering Week 17 with a 9-6 record. At the same time, the Bengals have had their share of struggles, as the team lost Joe Burrow for the rest of the season because of a wrist injury.
Even worse, Cincinnati needs a win on Sunday. If not, the Bengals will need a miracle to earn a playoff berth. One guy Cincy needs to step up in Week 17 is Tee Higgins, a player who hasn't come close to meeting expectations this season. Entering the Week 15 overtime win over Minnesota, the 2020 second-round pick had two catches or fewer in five of his nine appearances. He also found the end zone just twice up to that point and battled injuries, forcing him to miss time.
However, Higgins has looked like a different player in the last two games, bringing in nine of his 16 targets for 201 yards and three touchdowns. Naturally, fantasy managers still don't trust Higgins, especially since the 24-year-old benefited without Ja'Marr Chase out of the equation because of a shoulder injury. Yet, even if Chase is back for the must-win matchup versus the Chiefs, Higgins has played well enough to warrant flex consideration in every fantasy format.
