Should I Drop Travis Etienne? Fantasy Football Outlook for Week 13

Travis Etienne Jr. - Fantasy Football Rankings, Draft Sleepers, NFL Injury News

Should I drop Travis Etienne for fantasy football Week 13? Is Travis Etienne a safe player to cut? Read the fantasy football waivers outlook.

Jacksonville Jaguars running back Travis Etienne Jr. has played woefully inadequately for fantasy football managers who selected him with an early pick in 2024 drafts. Ironically, he's technically been more efficient with his rushing work this year. But it doesn't help that the team has been collapsing around him.

It's also not been great for him to see backup RB Tank Bigsby (ankle) clearly outplay him when both were on the field at every opportunity. He's easily lapped the guy ahead of him on the depth chart in efficiency.

So is it worth it to drop Etienne?

Editor's Note: The FFPC Baby Gorilla Tournament is now open, featuring a $100,000 grand prize and a $675,450 total prize pool! This 12-team, Tight End Premium contest uses a 20-round draft format, with the overall winners determined by total points scored during Weeks 15–17. Should I Drop Travis Etienne in Fantasy Football?

He's still worth hanging on to in PPR leagues with 12 or more teams, but it's fine to drop him in other leagues. He's on a team with poor offensive line play, a terrible offense overall, and a defense that can't seem to stop anything. Rushing attempts become hard to come by when the offensive line can't be trusted to block and the team is getting blown out often.

The show run by Press Taylor has been more offensive to fans of football that it has been to opposing defenses, which doesn't help any of the players on the team. It seems that only rookie wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. possesses the talent to overcome the total lack of good playcalling and still be productive.

ETN hasn't been so lucky, despite involvement in the passing game. He carried the ball 12 times for just 27 yards and caught three passes for six yards in the loss to the Detroit Lions in Week 11. You can forget about starting him in fantasy in tough matchups. And that was in a game Bigsby didn't even play.

Who Should I Pickup in Week 13 Fantasy Football?

If someone in your league dropped Bigsby due to the few poor games and injuries he's had, he should be your priority pickup. While it's a lost season for JAX, Bigsby's efficiency and tackle-breaking ability have been impressive, and he could still have some nice games down the stretch.

Another option at RB is Washington Commanders back Jeremy McNichols. The team's top two runners, Brian Robinson Jr. (ankle) and Austin Ekeler (concussion) are dealing with injuries. Robinson's status for Week 13 is unclear, but Ekeler was knocked out in a scary collision and is in concussion protocol. He's extremely unlikely to play next week.
