MLB DFS Prop Picks for 8/12/22
Pablo Lopez over 6.0 strikeouts- I wish we could get this at 5.5, but Lopez has matched or eclipsed this total in three of his previous four starts and has a solid matchup in terms of strikeout potential tonight against the Braves. The Braves have posted a 27.2% K rate against righties over the previous two weeks, which is ranked second-worst in baseball while also posting just a 6.5% walk rate over that same span.
Tony Gonsolin over 5.5 strikeouts - Gonso has hit this total in three of his previous four starts and four of his previous six starts and will be facing Kansas City Tonight. The Royals have posted the ninth-highest K rate against righties over the previous two weeks with a rate of 23.2% while also posting just a five percent walk rate and sub-100 wRC+ mark.
Tyler Mahle over 6.0 strikeouts - Mahle has only hit this prop in two of his previous five starts, however, he had some tougher matchups over that stretch when facing the Blue Jays and Cardinals. That will not be the case tonight against the Angels as they have posted the fourth-worst K rate against righties over the previous two weeks with a rate of 25.4% while also posting a sub-100 wRC+ mark over that same span.
Carlos Rodon over 8.0 strikeouts - This is a big number but ROdon has hit it in two of his previous three starts and will be facing the Pirates tonight. Over the previous two weeks, Pittsburgh has posted the sixth-highest K rate against lefties with a rate of 27.9% while also posting just an 85 wRC+ mark. Rodon should be able to rack up the strikeouts in a hurry in this one.
