Longtime major-league outfielder Torii Hunter is expected to be a candidate to take over as the Angels' next manager, according to Jeff Fletcher of the Orange County Register. He joins legendary slugger and former Angel Albert Pujols among the early possibilities to succeed the departed Ron Washington. The 50-year-old Hunter enjoyed a decorated career across 19 seasons in the majors, including five with the Angels, and has served as a special assistant to Halos general manager Perry Minasian since April 2024. Whether it's Hunter, Pujols, or someone else, the Angels' next manager will be facing an uphill battle in trying to lead a drastic turnaround. The Angels finished last in the AL West with a 72-90 record this season and extended their league-worst playoff drought to 11 years.--Connor Byrne
