Yennier Cano Sent to Triple-A
Yennier Cano to Triple-A Norfolk prior to their contest on Sunday against the New York Yankees. Cano has had a disappointing start to the season and will look to find his footing in the minor leagues. Through 26 2/3 innings this season, the primary stopper man has posted a high 4.73 ERA with a 1.39 WHIP. During this stretch, Cano has struck out 31 batters and tallied 11 holds. However, he has taken four losses and two blown saves. During the 2023 campaign, he was named to the AL All-Star team and was one of the most effective relievers in the sport, posting a stellar 2.11 ERA and a 1.00 WHIP. Last summer, he took a slight step back, posting a 3.15 ERA and a 1.30 WHIP. While he remains sidelined, Gregory Soto should be viewed as the top eighth-inning option in front of closer Felix Bautista.
