Tyler Reddick is currently having a pretty overrated season. As compared to 2022 and to a lesser extent 2023 when he had blinding speed and was a lethal passer but was also both unlucky and mistake-prone, and 2024 when he seemed less dominant but drove more smoothly, he now seems to be combining the sloppy mistakes of 2022 with less speed than he had in previous years. Reddick starts fourth today at Nashville and he's been good here in general as he was running second in 2023 before losing a tire leaving the pits and he probably would have passed Joey Logano for the win last year if there had been two or three more green flag laps, but the facts that he's been slow at tracks like Kansas where he previously dominated and he's made a lot of sloppy mistakes like last week at Charlotte when he sped in the pits and then nearly crashed out directly in front of leader William Byron suggest that he's less of a contender than he looks on paper. If he recaptures his 2022-2024 form, he could easily dominate, but it's unclear whether that'll happen.--Sean Wrona - RotoBaller
