Twins Finalize Extension With Pablo Lopez
2 years agoThe Minnesota Twins announced on Friday that they have finalized a four-year, $73.5 million contract extension with starting pitcher Pablo Lopez. He will remain with the organization through the 2027 season after Minnesota acquired him from the Miami Marlins in the winter in a deal that sent 2022 American League batting champion Luis Arraez to the Fish. Lopez has fit in quite nicely in Minnesota already, as the 27-year-old right-hander has a 1.73 ERA (2.72 FIP), 0.81 WHIP, six walks and a league-leading 33 strikeouts in 26 innings already in his first four starts with the team. He's in a much better situation in fantasy with the move from the tough National League East division to the weaker American League Central.
