Tony Gonsolin Fans Seven In Rehab Start Thursday
2 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Tony Gonsolin (ankle) was removed from his minor-league rehab start on Thursday for Triple-A Oklahoma City after three innings. Gonsolin threw 57 pitches in the outing and allowed a two-run home run while also striking out seven and walking two. It was his first game action since getting injured in spring training on March 3, and he was averaging 90.7 mph on his fastball after he averaged 93.1 mph on the pitch in 2022. The 28-year-old right-hander will likely make one more rehab start in the minors before joining the Dodgers' starting rotation for his 2023 debut. Gonsolin had a breakout year for LA in 2022 and will once again be a key part of their rotation, but fantasy managers shouldn't expect even better results this year.
