Texans Sign Larry Rountree III For RB Depth
1 year agoThe Houston Texans signed free-agent running back Larry Rountree III to an undisclosed deal on Friday and waived offensive guard Keaton Sutherland in a corresponding move. Rountree, a former sixth-round selection of the Los Angeles Chargers in 2021, will give the Texans more running back depth behind Dameon Pierce and Devin Singletary. The 24-year-old will be competing for a spot on the roster in training camp with names like Mike Boone, Dare Ogunbowale and Gerrid Doaks. In his two seasons with the Bolts, Rountree ran the ball 49 times for 106 yards (2.2 yards per carry) and one touchdown in 16 games (zero starts). He remains far off the fantasy radar.
