Shohei Ohtani To Make Next Start Wednesday
1 year agoLos Angeles Angels two-way star Shohei Ohtani (finger) has recovered from the cramping in his right middle finger and he's scheduled to make his next start on Wednesday against the San Francisco Giants, according to manager Phil Nevin. Ohtani has been dealing with cramping issues recently, and he's also dealt with some fingernail issues dating back to early July, but he's been given the green light to pitch next week. The 29-year-old All-Star looked just fine in his in his last start on Aug. 3 against the Seattle Mariners before leaving early, going four shutout innings with one walk and four strikeouts. Ohtani hasn't been quite as good on the mound as he has been with the bat in 2023, but he'll still be a must-start in fantasy as a pitcher on Wednesday against the Gigantes.
