The New Orleans Saints informed safety Marcus Maye on Thursday that he will be released at the start of the new league year next month, according to sources. Maye has been injured each of the last three seasons, the last two with the Saints, and has played in a combined 23 games in that span, recording 99 solo tackles, two sacks, seven tackles for loss, two interceptions, six passes defensed and a forced fumble. In 2023 with the Saints, he started seven games and finished with 37 tackles (27 solo), one sack and two interceptions before succumbing to a shoulder injury. Cutting the 30-year-old former second-round pick of the New York Jets in 2017 should save the cost-cutting Saints around $7.2 million in salary cap space for 2024. Maye will just be hoping to stay healthy wherever he lands next.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
