3 years agoThe New Orleans Saints are expected to sign veteran cornerback Desmond Trufant after they worked him out on Monday, according to a source. Trufant suffered a groin injury early in training camp with the Chicago Bears and was released last week. The 30-year-old also took some time away from football after the death of his father. Trufant still has talent, but injuries have caused him to miss 17 of 32 games over the last two seasons. At the very least, he'll provide the New Orleans secondary with plenty of experience and depth to begin the 2021 regular season. The Saints defense as a whole should be considered a low-end starting unit early on, but we'd recommend using a different defense in Week 1 when they face the Green Bay Packers.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
