Ryan O'Hearn Designated For Assignment Again
2 years agoThe Baltimore Orioles designated infielder Ryan O'Hearn for assignment on Thursday to make room on the roster for infielder Lewin Diaz, who was claimed off waivers from the Atlanta Braves. O'Hearn was already designated for assignment by the Kansas City Royals this offseason and was claimed off waivers by the Orioles earlier this week. The 29-year-old left-handed slugger played in 67 games for the Royals in 2022 and struggled to the tune of a .239/.290/.321 slash line with a .611 OPS, one home run, 16 RBI and 14 runs scored in 145 plate appearances. O'Hearn hit 26 home runs in his first two big-league seasons in KC but has since compiled 12 long balls in the last three seasons.
