Rhys Hoskins To Have Knee Surgery Thursday
2 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies first baseman Rhys Hoskins (knee) will undergo left ACL reconstruction surgery on Thursday in Texas, and the procedure will be performed by Dr. Steve Singleton. Hoskins tore his left ACL in a Grapefruit League game last week and will miss the entire 2023 season. It's a tough blow for anyone that already drafted the 30-year-old slugger. He's set to become a free agent this winter. If you have a draft before Opening Day on Thursday, you'll obviously want to avoid him. With Hoskins done, Darick Hall is expected to see most of the playing time at the hot corner for the Phillies in 2023. Hall hits left-handed and could sit against lefty pitchers, with Alec Bohm sliding over to first and either Edmundo Sosa or Josh Harrison playing third those days.
