1 year agoThe Chicago Cubs placed third baseman/outfielder Patrick Wisdom (wrist) on the 10-day injured list on Saturday with a right-wrist sprain. To add injury to insult, Wisdom has been atrocious at the plate in the last 18 games after hitting well in the first month of the 2023 season. In his last 18 games, he's gone 5-for-54 (.093) with two home runs, five RBI, four walks and 27 strikeouts in 58 plate appearances. The 31-year-old could use some time away to get right mentally, and hopefully he returns to the Cubs in better form at the plate. Overall, he's hitting under the Mendoza Line at .196 (36-for-184) with 14 home runs, 28 RBI and 30 runs scored in 56 games.
