Khamzat Chimaev became the new middleweight champion after outclassing and dominating Dricus Du Plessis en route to a unanimous decision win. It wasn't the most exciting fight, but Chimaev was in complete control, taking Du Plessis down almost at will. Having suffocating top control coupled with ground-and-pound, he captured the undisputed middleweight belt. Cannonier was outclassed in this fight; he was dominated, and he got knocked down multiple times.
