Oliveira applied pressure early in the fight, landing teep kicks on Gamrot, but the finishing sequence came in the second round after Oliveira took Gamrot down. Figueiredo entered the fight coming off back-to-back losses for the first time in his career. It wasn't the most exciting fight, as Figueiredo primarily relied on his grappling to ground Jackson, but in the end, when the UFC announcer was reading the scorecards, two judges scored the fight 29-28 for the Brazilian, and the third scored it for Jackson with that same 29-28. Luque was completely outclassed in this fight, and the fight was in danger of getting stopped on a few occasions. After landing a punch in the first round, Luque signalled that he was poked in the eye, the action was stopped, but the replay showed that it came from a thumb graze rather than a finger, which is legal. Alvarez could have finished Luque on a few occasions, but Luque managed to survive. In 15 minutes of action, Alvarez landed a takedown and 89 significant strikes. Diniz was completely overwhelmed by Pinto in this matchup and remained in defensive mode from the beginning to the end of the fight. After escaping numerous submission attempts, Pinto moved to full mount and just started blasting Diniz with punches, forcing the referee to stop the fight.
