Texas Rangers right-hander Nathan Eovaldi (triceps) is in Arlington to undergo further diagnostic testing on his injured triceps, manager Bruce Bochy announced. The Rangers expect Eovaldi to throw a bullpen session this weekend. Eovaldi went on the 15-day IL with tightness in his triceps on June 1 (retroactive to May 29), derailing a fantastic start to the season for the 35-year-old. He stormed out of the gates with 69 1/3 innings of 1.56 ERA ball (3.37 xERA) and 73 strikeouts against a meager 10 walks before his IL stint. While it's unknown when Eovaldi will return, the Rangers have suggested his IL placement was precautionary. If that's the case, he could be back in their rotation soon.--Connor ByrneSource: Shawn McFarland - Dallas Morning News

Kansas City Royals right-handed reliever Lucas Erceg (back) is on track to rejoin the team on Wednesday, manager Matt Quatraro announced. Erceg has been on the 15-day injured list since May 27 with a low back strain, but he has been able to get through his rehab without incident. He threw a perfect inning for Triple-A Omaha on Sunday. The 30-year-old was a great source of holds before he landed on the shelf, picking up 13. He also pitched to an excellent 1.96 ERA (3.23 xERA) with 18:3 K:BB and a career-best 53.3% ground-ball rate over a 23-inning span.--Connor ByrneSource: Anne Rogers - MLB.com

The Washington Nationals recalled infielder Andres Chaparro from Triple-A Rochester on Tuesday and optioned infielder Nasim Nunez to Rochester in a corresponding move, according to president of baseball operations and general manager Mike Rizzo. Chaparro will be making his season debut for the Nats when he gets into a game after missing the first two months of the year with an oblique strain. The 26-year-old was hitting well at Rochester before his promotion, going 17-for-56 (.304) with five home runs, 19 RBI and eight runs scored in 15 games played. As a rookie in 2024, the Venezuelan hit .215 (26-for-121) with four homers and 15 RBI in his first 33 games. Chaparro is really only worth a look from fantasy managers looking for bench depth in deep NL-only leagues as a potential platoon guy against left-handed pitchers.--Keith HernandezSource: Nationals Communications

Veteran right-handed reliever Craig Kimbrel signed a minor-league deal with the Texas Rangers on Tuesday, a source tells The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal. The Atlanta Braves recently recalled Kimbrel up from the minors but then designated him for assignment after just one appearance out of their bullpen. He elected free agency and has quickly latched on with another team. The 37-year-old will likely start at Triple-A Round Rock, but there's a good chance he'll find his way back to the big leagues before long in some sort of high-leverage setup role. Kimbrel held a nice 2.00 ERA, 0.94 WHIP, three saves, 23 strikeouts and nine walks in 18 relief innings with Double-A Columbus and Triple-A Gwinnett in the Braves organization. The nine-time All-Star has saved 440 games in his 16-year MLB career, but he faces an uphill battle to get back into fantasy relevance the rest of the 2025 season.--Keith HernandezSource: The Athletic - Ken Rosenthal

Athletics shortstop Jacob Wilson is not in the team's lineup against the Los Angeles Angels on Tuesday. It's not yet known why the Athletics scratched Wilson from their starting nine. Max Schuemann will take his place at shortstop and bat eighth. The 23-year-old Wilson is enjoying a sensational rookie season with a .366/.402/.520 line, eight home runs, and five stolen bases in 272 plate appearances. The hope is that he's not dealing with an injury, but the A's should have more information soon.--Connor ByrneSource: Athletics

Tampa Bay Buccaneers All-Pro left tackle Tristan Wirfs (knee) didn't take part in the team's first mandatory minicamp practice on Tuesday and had a large brace on his right knee, according to ESPN's Jenna Laine. Head coach Todd Bowles said Wirfs is dealing with an offseason injury and that his absence from practice was "precautionary." "He'll be fine in training camp," Bowles said. Wirfs was the 13th overall pick by the Bucs in the 2020 NFL draft out of Iowa. He has started all 79 of the games that he's appeared in over his five NFL seasons and has made the Pro Bowl in each of the last four years, so he's pretty important for Tampa's offense as they enter yet another year with a new offensive coordinator. His injury will be something to keep an eye on in training camp this summer, but he should be ready to protect quarterback Baker Mayfield's blind side in Week 1.--Keith HernandezSource: ESPN.com - Jenna Laine

Los Angeles Dodgers left-hander Blake Snell (shoulder) completed a 15-pitch bullpen session Tuesday, Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register reports. It was Snell's first bullpen session since April. Snell revealed afterward that his shoulder wasn't pain-free until two weeks ago. The Dodgers signed Snell to a five-year, $182 million guarantee in free agency, but the two-time Cy Young winner hasn't pitched yet this season on account of his shoulder problems. He's obviously still a ways off from debuting this season, but it's a positive sign that he was able to get through Tuesday's throwing session unscathed.--Connor ByrneSource: Bill Plunkett - Orange County Register

Los Angeles Dodgers relief pitcher Lou Trivino will serve as the opener ahead of Tuesday's game against the San Diego Padres. The Dodgers will go with a bullpen game here, which could be a hard task against a tough Padres lineup. Trivino will get the ball first with Matt Sauer likely pitching a bulk of the innings. The Dodgers appear to be in good hands with Trivino who is posting a 1.74 ERA and 1.16 WHIP since joining the team. He's not a great fantasy option here, but could offer some low-end value for managers looking for bullpen help.--Andy WebbSource: mlb.com

Pittsburgh Steelers star pass-rusher T.J. Watt is not expected to attend mandatory minicamp this week, a source tells The Athletic's Diana Russini. Watt is angling for a new contract extension, and although the two sides are fully expected to work something out before the start of the 2025 regular season this fall, it's something that could stretch into training camp this summer. Despite being 30 years old, the seven-time Pro Bowler and four-time All-Pro remains one of the most disruptive defensive players in the NFL when he's healthy. Watt is the heart and soul of Pittsburgh's physical defensive unit, and although he dropped to 11.5 sacks last year after posting a league-high 19 the year prior, he was still plenty productive in IDP fantasy formats with 61 tackles (40 solo), 19 tackles for loss, 27 QB hits, a league-high six forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries in 17 regular-season starts.--Keith HernandezSource: The Athletic - Dianna Russini

Los Angeles Dodgers catcher Will Smith heads to the bench ahead of Tuesday's game against the San Diego Padres. Smith is absent from the starting lineup after starting in each of the last three games. During that span, Smith went 3-for-13 with a home run, three RBI, and a walk. In his absence, Dalton Rushing will start behind the plate and bat ninth versus right-hander Dylan Cease. Smith has been seeing more time on the bench lately, but that is likely due to the emergence of Rushing. Fantasy managers shouldn't be worried as Smith is hitting well enough to remain a mainstay in the lineup.--Andy WebbSource: mlb.com

Cincinnati Bengals All-Pro defensive end Trey Hendrickson is not attending mandatory minicamp this week as he seeks a long-term contract extension, a source tells The Athletic's Jeff Howe. Hendrickson hasn't practiced at all with the team this season and said that he is willing to hold out into the regular season if the Bengals don't give him what he wants after back-to-back 17.5-sack seasons. The Bengals gave the 30-year-old four-time Pro Bowl pass-rusher permission to seek a trade back in March, but nothing materialized with the Bengals' asking price being extremely high. The Bengals struggled on defense in 2024 in spite of Hendrickson's elite pass-rushing contributions, but they are definitely a better team with him than without him. In IDP fantasy formats, Hendrickson's value could drop as the regular season approaches if he remains unsigned.--Keith HernandezSource: The Athletic - Jeff Howe

Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Nathan Lukes (neck) has been scratched from the starting lineup ahead of Tuesday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals. The severity of the issue is unknown, but Lukes has been pulled from the lineup due to neck discomfort. For now, fantasy managers should consider Lukes as day-to-day until more information is revealed. The Jays will go with Alan Roden, Jonatan Clase, and Myles Straw in the outfield for Tuesday's contest. Straw figures to gain the most playing time if Lukes is forced to miss more games.--Andy WebbSource: mlb.com

Texas Rangers catcher Jonah Heim is out of the starting lineup ahead of Tuesday's game against the Minnesota Twins. This is a routine rest day for Heim who has been in a terrible slump at the plate. Heim is 4-for-40 over his last 13 games, which includes three straight hitless performances. Kyle Higashioka will take over behind the plate and bat ninth against right-hander Simeon Woods Richardson on Tuesday. Heim has decent power potential, but he isn't doing enough with the bat right now to warrant rostering in most fantasy formats.--Andy WebbSource: mlb.com

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Diontae Johnson is in attendance at mandatory minicamp this week after not showing up for voluntary organized team activities. Although there is opportunity in Cleveland this year behind WR1 Jerry Jeudy, fantasy managers won't be holding their breath for the 28-year-old wideout after he played for three teams in 2024. He caught 30 of 58 targets for 357 yards and three touchdowns with the Panthers before being traded to the Ravens, where he caught just one pass in four games. Johnson finished the year in Houston and caught two passes for 12 yards. The former third-rounder (66th overall) by the Steelers in 2019 out of Toledo has regressed each season since his 1,000-yard campaign in 2021 in Pittsburgh. With one of the worst QB situations in the league on top of it, Johnson is barely ranked inside the top-100 wideouts at RotoBaller.--Keith HernandezSource: The Cleveland Plain Dealer - Mary Kay Cabot

Los Angeles Angels outfielder Jorge Soler (groin) is back in the starting lineup ahead of Tuesday's game against the Athletics. Soler is back in action after missing each of the last two games due to a lingering groin issue. This doesn't appear to be a serious issue, but it is something that Soler has dealt with in the past. Soler will bat fifth and cover right field versus right-hander Mitch Spence on Tuesday. Fantasy managers should adjust their lineups and get Soler back in there.--Andy WebbSource: mlb.com

Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is prioritizing his health in 2025 and also said that the hip injury that ended his season in Week 17 of last year started to "feel a little better" in February and won't be an issue going forward. "Doing everything I can to stay available for the guys," Tagovailoa said after signing a four-year, $212.1 million contract extension. The third diagnosed concussion of his career sidelined him for four games last year before he was shut down for the final two games with a hip injury. In addition to the 27-year-old's missed time due to injuries in 2024, Miami's offense was less explosive in general, and Tagovailoa finished with 2,867 passing yards, 19 touchdowns and seven picks in 11 starts. He still has an excellent receiver combo of Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, but Tagovailoa's concussion history makes him an avoidable fantasy QB in standard 12-team leagues.--Keith HernandezSource: ESPN.com - Marcel Louis-Jacques

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich is out of the starting lineup ahead of Tuesday's game against the Atlanta Braves. This appears to be a routine rest day for Yelich who has started in each of the last seven games. Over the last three games, Yelich is 1-for-9, so a rest day looks like it's needed. In his absence, Jake Bauers will serve as the designated hitter and bat cleanup versus right-hander Grant Holmes on Tuesday.--Andy WebbSource: mlb.com

Arizona Diamondbacks catcher Gabriel Moreno (hand) is back in the starting lineup ahead of Tuesday's game against the Seattle Mariners. Moreno has missed the last three games after getting hit in the right hand during Friday's game. He missed a few games due to inflammation in his hand, but appears to be ready to go now. Moreno has been crushing the ball lately, slashing .358/.393/.660 with three home runs and eight RBI over his last 15 games. He'll bat eighth and cover behind the plate versus right-hander Logan Evans on Tuesday.--Andy WebbSource: mlb.com

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson (shoulder) was shut down on May 29 after an "aggravation" to the AC joint in his surgically-repaired right shoulder and will be out indefinitely, according to head coach Shane Steichen. It's bad news for the former first-rounder after he suffered a severe AC joint sprain in October of 2023 in his rookie season that required season-ending surgery. The Athletic's James Boyd writes that the odds of Richardson one day becoming the face of the Colts franchise are dwindling by the day. "We'll see when he comes back. Not going to put a timetable for training camp on it, but when he does come back, we'll ease him into throwing, and we'll go from there," Steichen said. Although nothing will be decided this year, Richardson's stock is falling drastically, increasing Daniel Jones' odds of winning the starting gig under center.--Keith HernandezSource: The Athletic - James Boyd

The Seattle Mariners recalled rookie right-hander Logan Evans from Triple-A Tacoma and to start on Tuesday on the road against the Arizona Diamondbacks with right-hander Bryce Miller (elbow) going back on the injured list. Right-hander Bryan Woo will be pushed back to Wednesday. This will be Evans' sixth start of his first year in the big leagues. The 24-year-old, who is considered the team's No. 10 prospect per MLB Pipeline, has struck out only 25 hitters in 35 innings of work in his six starts, but he's only allowed 11 earned runs and walked 10 while going 3-1. Fantasy managers shouldn't expect him to stick around in Seattle's starting rotation beyond one start, though, with Logan Gilbert (elbow) potentially returning from the IL next week. Evans will be a pretty risky fantasy streamer on Tuesday night against a strong D-backs offense.--Keith HernandezSource: The Seattle Times - Tim Booth

San Francisco Giants outfielder Jung Hoo Lee (back) is returning to center field and will bat leadoff on Tuesday against the division-rival Colorado Rockies and left-hander Carson Palmquist at Coors Field. Lee did not start the final two games of the weekend against the Atlanta Braves due to tightness in his back, but he's feeling better after a scheduled day off for travel on Monday. The 26-year-old only played in 37 games in his first season in the big leagues due to a shoulder injury that required surgery. He's already played in 64 games in 2025 and enters Tuesday's tilt slashing .276/.330/.436 with a .766 OPS, six homers, 32 RBI, 35 runs scored and six stolen bases. The Japanese outfielder has actually been better against lefties this year, going 19-for-62 (.306) against them with three of his six homers. Get Lee back in your lineups this week at hitter-friendly Coors Field.--Keith HernandezSource: MLB.com

Athletics right-hander Mitch Spence will remain in the starting rotation and get another turn on Tuesday on the road against the division-rival Los Angeles Angels in Anaheim. Spence made his first start of the season last Thursday in a win over the Minnesota Twins and looked good, allowing just one earned run on three hits (one homer) while walking one and striking out four in five innings of work. The 27-year-old could stick around even longer in a starting role if he shows well again on Tuesday, and he has the matchup to do it against an Angels squad that ranks 19th in the league with a .692 OPS. Spence's first 22 outings this year came in a relief role, and he's currently sporting a 4.09 ERA (3.91 FIP), a 1.27 WHIP, one save, 41 strikeouts and 15 walks in 44 innings pitched. He has an underwhelming 19.9% strikeout rate in his two big-league seasons and relies on keeping the ball on the ground.--Keith HernandezSource: MLB.com

The Los Angeles Angels announced on Tuesday that they placed outfielder Chris Taylor (hand) on the 10-day injured list with a fractured left hand and added first baseman/outfielder LaMonte Wade Jr. to the major-league roster in a corresponding move. Taylor was recently scooped up by the Halos after he was cut by the Los Angeles Dodgers, but the 34-year-old veteran only made it 10 games with the Angels before fracturing his hand on a hit-by-pitch in Monday's win over the Athletics. There's no timetable for when Taylor might be able to return, but it's a good bet we won't see him until the second half of the season. He had gone 6-for-30 (.200) with a homer, three RBI and a steal as a utility player for the Angels. Wade could see occasional start in the outfield against right-handed pitching but isn't anything more than a bench stash in AL-only leagues after being cut by the Giants earlier this year.--Keith HernandezSource: Angels PR

Free-agent running back J.K. Dobbins signed a one-year, $5.25 million deal on Tuesday with the Denver Broncos, sources tell NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. Dobbins, who was a Comeback Player of the Year finalist in 2024, is still only 26 years old and had over 1,000 scrimmage yards and nine touchdowns in 13 games with the Los Angeles Chargers last year. He did not play at all in 2021 and was limited to nine total games in 2022 and 2023 with the Baltimore Ravens due to knee and Achilles injuries, which made it all the more impressive that he averaged 4.6 yards per carry on his career-high 195 rushing attempts in 2024 with the Bolts. Dobbins will now pair with rookie second-round RB RJ Harvey in the backfield for the Broncos in an offense that should be plenty productive under quarterback Bo Nix in his second season. At the very least, Dobbins could have RB3/flex appeal in Denver's backfield.--Keith HernandezSource: NFL Network - Tom Pelissero

Chicago Cubs manager Craig Counsell said that left-hander Shota Imanaga (hamstring) will require a few more minor-league rehab starts before he returns to the major-league starting rotation. "Shota has got a couple more starts before you're going to see him in Chicago. That's because as a starter, you've got to go through this process where you're lengthened out and your arm recovers," Counsell said. The 31-year-old Japanese hurler threw two scoreless innings in his first rehab start on Monday at the rookie-level Arizona Complex League. If he can avoid setbacks in his next couple of rehab starts on the farm, we could see him back in Chicago by the end of June. He's been slow to recover from a strained left hamstring that has kept him out since early May, but fantasy managers should be stashing him everywhere. Imanaga had a 2.82 ERA and 1.09 WHIP with 34 K's in 44 2/3 frames over eight starts before his injury.--Keith HernandezSource: 670 The Score

An MRI exam showed a stress reaction in Philadelphia Phillies right-hander Aaron Nola's (ankle, rib) right rib cage, according to manager Rob Thomson. Nola will not throw for at least two weeks and now probably won't return from the injured list until after the All-Star break in mid-July. The 32-year-old veteran initially landed on the 15-day IL with a sprained right ankle, but now he's dealing with a much more worrisome injury. In addition to his injuries, the former All-Star wasn't good on the mound before his ankle injury this year, going 1-7 with a 6.16 ERA and 1.51 WHIP with 52 punchouts and 16 walks in 49 2/3 innings over his nine starts. Fantasy managers will still want to stash Nola if they can, but his return is no longer imminent. Rookie Mick Abel should see a longer stay in Philly's rotation now, making him more attractive in shallower formats.--Keith HernandezSource: The Athletic - Matt Gelb

St. Louis Cardinals right-handed pitching prospect Tekoah Roby has been promoted from Double-A Springfield to Triple-A Memphis. Roby, the team's No. 11 prospect per MLB Pipeline, gets the promotion after going 4-2 with a 2.49 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and 57:11 K:BB in 47 innings over 10 starts. The 23-year-old former third-rounder by the Texas Rangers in 2020 only managed 10 total starts last year due a shoulder injury, so it's nice to see him bounce back already in 2025. Roby, who stands at 6-foot-1 and 210 pounds, could make his major-league debut later this season if he impresses at Memphis. He features a fastball, nasty curveball, slider and changeup. It's nice to see him performing well this season, but the Cardinals will likely want to see him get through a whole year healthy before considering him for their rotation in 2026.--Keith HernandezSource: St. Louis Post-Dispatch - Derrick Goold

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch's Daniel Guerrero writes that St. Louis Cardinals right-handed pitching prospect Michael McGreevy could come back up to the big leagues to make another spot start later this month. McGreevy came up to make his first start of the year on Sunday against the Los Angeles Dodgers and took the loss after allowing four earned runs on eight hits while walking none and striking out five in six innings. All things considered, it wasn't a bad showing for the 24-year-old, who is considered the team's No. 10 prospect per MLB Pipeline. The former 18th overall pick in 2021 out of Santa Barbara has held his own with a 3.09 ERA and 0.86 WHIP with 10 strikeouts in his two outings (11 2/3 innings) this year after making his MLB debut in 2024. McGreevy's stuff isn't anything special, but he's a ground-ball artist with exceptional control.--Keith HernandezSource: St. Louis Post-Dispatch - Daniel Guerrero
