Will Vest Dealing With Finger Injury
Will Vest (finger) exited early in an 8-4 loss to the Cincinnati Reds on Sunday with a finger injury. Afterward, manager A.J. Hinch told Evan Woodbery of MLive.com that "(Vest) had this feeling in his pinky. It was bothering him, so we took him out. We'll get him evaluated, and he'll run through the whole battery of tests. I have no idea what it is." Vest suffered his first loss and his third blown save of the season after allowing three unearned runs on three hits in two-thirds of an inning. The right-hander left after uncorking a wild pitch. Overall, the 30-year-old has done great work this season with a 1.80 ERA, 37:9 K:BB, and 12 saves over 35 frames. If Vest requires a stint on the 15-day injured list, it should lead to more save opportunities for righty Tommy Kahnle.
