Michael McGreevy Could Make Another Spot Start This Month
Michael McGreevy could come back up to the big leagues to make another spot start later this month. McGreevy came up to make his first start of the year on Sunday against the Los Angeles Dodgers and took the loss after allowing four earned runs on eight hits while walking none and striking out five in six innings. All things considered, it wasn't a bad showing for the 24-year-old, who is considered the team's No. 10 prospect per MLB Pipeline. The former 18th overall pick in 2021 out of Santa Barbara has held his own with a 3.09 ERA and 0.86 WHIP with 10 strikeouts in his two outings (11 2/3 innings) this year after making his MLB debut in 2024. McGreevy's stuff isn't anything special, but he's a ground-ball artist with exceptional control.
