Cincinnati Reds right-hander Hunter Greene will take the hill at Dodger Stadium on Tuesday night to face the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 1 of the wild-card series. Greene will have a tough task on his hands against the defending World Series champions on the road, but they could be without All-Star catcher Will Smith (hand). The 26-year-old former first-rounder missed some time with an injury this year, which limited him to 19 starts in his fourth big-league season. The hard-throwing hurler was sharp when he was active for the Reds, though, going 7-4 with a 2.76 ERA (3.28 FIP) and 0.94 WHIP with 132 strikeouts and 26 walks in 107 2/3 innings pitched. Greene took a loss in his only meeting against LA in 2025 back on Aug. 25, when he allowed five runs (three earned) on six hits (two homers) while walking two and striking out only three in five innings. In his five September starts, Greene allowed over two earned runs just once.--Keith Hernandez

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Jauan Jennings (ankle, ribs) was listed as a non-participant on the team's Monday injury report, according to Cam Inman of Bay Area News Group. Inman notes that San Francisco did not actually practice on Monday, so this is an estimation from the team on what Jennings' practice status would be heading into their Week 5 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday night. The 28-year-old has dealt with myriad injuries this season and picked up a rib ailment in Week 4. In the three games he's been able to play in, Jennings has recorded nine catches for 129 yards and a touchdown on 19 targets. If he's unable to suit up on Thursday, 49ers wideouts Kendrick Bourne and Demarcus Robinson could see an increase in playing time alongside Ricky Pearsall (knee), who is dealing with a knee injury of his own. If Jennings is active, he profiles as a low-end fantasy WR3/flex option in Week 5.--Will Brady

The Los Angeles Dodgers announced on Monday that left-hander Blake Snell will make the start on Tuesday night at Dodger Stadium against the Cincinnati Reds for Game 1 of the wild-card series. Snell will be opposed by Reds hard-throwing right-hander Hunter Greene. The Reds will have a tough matchup on their hands with Snell, who had a minuscule 0.47 ERA with 28 strikeouts in 19 innings in his final three starts of the regular season. Injuries cropped up again for the 32-year-old two-time Cy Young winner, limiting him to just 11 starts in his first year with the Blue. However, when he was available, he was tough to hit, going 5-4 with a 2.35 ERA and 1.25 WHIP with 72 punchouts and 26 walks in 61 1/3 frames during the regular season. Snell did not face the Reds this year. The Reds as a team ranked 13th in the majors in 2025 in OPS (.720) against left-handed pitchers.--Keith Hernandez

Indianapolis Colts head coach Shane Steichen said that wide receiver Adonai Mitchell is "going to have to earn" more opportunities going forward after his costly fumble in the team's Week 4 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. Mitchell recorded three catches for 96 yards on four targets against Los Angeles, but dropped the ball just before crossing the goal line on what should have been a 70-plus-yard touchdown. The 22-year-old has logged seven catches for 137 yards on 12 targets through four games this season. He saw increased playing time in Week 4 with Colts wideout Alec Pierce (concussion) sidelined. If Pierce returns for the team's Week 5 matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders, Mitchell could have a hard time getting on the field.--Will Brady

Los Angeles Dodgers catcher Will Smith (hand) was scheduled to take more swings on Monday, according to Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic. If Smith feels good on Monday, he will face live pitching on Monday night. If he doesn't feel good, Ardaya speculates that it won't be a good sign for his chances to be on the wild-card roster against the Cincinnati Reds this week. The 30-year-old felt good while swinging in the batting cage on Saturday, so he's giving it another go on Monday before the Dodgers have to finalize their roster for the wild-card series on Tuesday. Smith would be a big loss behind the plate for the defending World Series champions, as he hit a cool .296/.404/.497 with a .901 OPS and 17 home runs during the regular season. However, the three-time All-Star has not played in a game since Sept. 9. If Smith is out this week against Cincy, Ben Rortvedt will continue to serve as L.A.'s starting backstop.--Keith Hernandez

Dallas Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer said rookie running back Jaydon Blue is "very close" to being active on game day and has been practicing "really, really well," per Jon Machota of The Athletic. Blue has been inactive for each of the Cowboys' first four games of 2025. Javonte Williams has been the workhorse back in Dallas so far this season, with fellow veteran back Miles Sanders (ankle) serving as the RB2. Sanders is reportedly trending towards playing in Week 5 after suffering an ankle injury in Week 4. Still, his health status could be a factor in the team's decision on whether to activate Blue. The Cowboys will face the New York Jets in Week 5, which would be a favorable matchup for Blue if he is indeed called upon to make his NFL debut.--Will Brady

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill (knee) was forced to exit in the third quarter of his team's Week 4 matchup against the New York Jets with a left-knee injury. Hill's leg buckled underneath him awkwardly, and he was carted off the field with an Aircast on. It's too early to say exactly what the injury is, but it certainly doesn't look good for the 31-year-old wideout. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Hill has been ruled out and is being taken to a local hospital for imaging and evaluation. Hill will finish Week 4 with six catches for 67 yards. In his absence, Dolphins wide receivers Jaylen Waddle and Malik Washington should both see an uptick in targets. Veteran tight end Darren Waller and running back De'Von Achane could also see increased usage in the Miami passing game.--Will Brady

Boston Red Sox manager Alex Cora said that right-hander Lucas Giolito (elbow) will not be on the roster for the wild-card series this week in the Bronx against the division-rival New York Yankees as he deals with an elbow issue, according to Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald. Giolito has gone to visit with Dr. Dugas, who performed his elbow surgery back in March of 2024. It's a big blow to Boston's pitching staff for the postseason, as Giolito was a significant part of them making it to the playoffs. After missing all of 2024 due to an elbow injury that required an internal brace, the 31-year-old went 10-4 with a nice 3.41 ERA (4.17 FIP) and 1.29 WHIP with 121 strikeouts and 56 walks in 145 innings over 26 starts in his first year in Beantown. At this time, it's unclear how serious Giolito's injury is or if he could return to start in the Division Series if Boston advances. With Giolito out this week against the Yanks, rookie Connelly Early could now be the favorite to start a Game 3 on Thursday, if necessary.--Keith Hernandez

Boston Red Sox third baseman Alex Bregman (illness) "should be good to go" for Game 1 of the wild-card series on Tuesday in the Bronx against the division-rival New York Yankees, according to chief baseball officer Craig Breslow. Bregman has been sick and away from the team for most of the past two dayshe'sut h's apparently feeling better and will be ready for the start of the playoffs. He traveled separately from the team to New York and was on the field for a workout at Yankee Stadium on Monday, according to Tim Healey of Newsday. The 31-year-old hit just .216 in September to close out the regular season, so Boston will be hoping he can turn things around now that they are in the postseason. In his career against Fried, he's gone 5-for-9 with a home run and two RBI in 12 plate appearances. Against lefties this year, Bregman hit a strong .319 (36-for-113), but with only three of his 18 home runs.--Keith Hernandez

New York Yankees left-hander Max Fried will take the ball on Tuesday for Game 1 of the wild-card series in the Bronx against the division-rival Boston Red Sox, according to manager Aaron Boone. Austin Wells will make the start behind the plate. Fried will be opposed by Boston left-hander Garrett Crochet. In his first year in pinstripes, Fried didn't disappoint, winning an American League-best 19 games while also posting a sharp 2.86 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, and 189:51 K:BB in 195 1/3 innings over his 32 starts. His 189 strikeouts were a new career high. He was excellent in his three starts against the division rivals this year, too, sporting a 1.96 ERA with only four earned runs allowed, 22 strikeouts, and seven walks in 18 1/3 innings pitched. The Red Sox were one of the worst teams in the league this year in terms of OPS against left-handed pitchers, so things won't be easy for them against one of the best lefties in the majors in 2025.--Keith Hernandez

New York Jets running back Braelon Allen (knee) suffered a knee injury in the first half of the Monday night game against the division-rival Miami Dolphins and has already been ruled out, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. Allen's knee took a pretty nasty shot in the second quarter on a kickoff return. The 21-year-old was able to walk to the locker room under his own power, but he was quickly ruled out. Before the injury, he carried the ball four times for 26 yards. With Allen out the rest of the way to close out Week 4 action, Isaiah Davis will see more work in New York's backfield as a change-of-pace option behind Breece Hall. Allen came into Monday night's action with 14 rushing attempts for 50 yards (3.6 yards per game) and one rushing touchdown in three games in a struggling Jets offense. He's merely been a handcuff for Hall's owners, but it's possible he won't be able to play in Week 5 against the Dallas Cowboys.--Keith Hernandez

Detroit Lions tight end Sam LaPorta recorded three catches for 39 yards on four targets in his team's Week 4 win over the Cleveland Browns. LaPorta has now earned exactly four targets and failed to crack 40 yards in each of Detroit's last three games. For the season, the 24-year-old has logged 16 catches for 177 yards and zero touchdowns on 21 targets. On the bright side, LaPorta is tied for second on the Lions in targets with running back Jahmyr Gibbs, behind only star wideout Amon-Ra St. Brown (32). Still, LaPorta has not been able to provide consistent fantasy production so far in 2025. He has a favorable matchup on paper in Week 5 against the Cincinnati Bengals, but LaPorta may need to find the end zone to be a worthwhile fantasy starter.--Will Brady

San Diego Padres right-hander Michael King will be available out of the bullpen during the entire wild-card series at Wrigley Field this week against the Chicago Cubs, according to manager Mike Shildt. Right-hander Nick Pivetta will start Game 1 on Tuesday, followed by right-hander Dylan Cease in Game 2 on Wednesday. If necessary, right-hander Yu Darvish will likely get the nod in a deciding Game 3 on Thursday. King only made 15 starts in 2025 after missing the majority of the year, first with a right-shoulder injury and then a knee ailment. The 30-year-old made just five starts after injuring his shoulder in May and wasn't good, recording a 6.11 ERA with 12 strikeouts and nine walks in 17 2/3 innings to close out the year. He finished the year 5-3 with a 3.44 ERA (4.42 FIP) with 76 strikeouts and 26 walks in 73 1/3 innings. If the Padres advance to the National League Division Series, King could rejoin the starting rotation.--Keith Hernandez

Detroit Lions rookie wide receiver Isaac TeSlaa was held without a catch for the second straight game in Week 4 by the Cleveland Browns. TeSlaa burst onto the scene with a pair of highlight-reel grabs over his first two NFL games, but he remains limited to a minor role in the Detroit offense for the time being. The 23-year-old played just 20% of the Lions' offensive snaps in Week 4 and is firmly behind Detroit wideouts Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jameson Williams, and Kalif Raymond on the team's depth chart at the position. All told, TeSlaa has two catches for 42 yards and a touchdown on four targets so far this season. He maintains some appeal in dynasty leagues, but TeSlaa should be off the radar of fantasy managers in redraft formats.--Will Brady

San Diego Padres right-hander Dylan Cease will start Game 2 of the wild-card series against the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field on Wednesday, according to manager Mike Shildt. Right-hander Yu Darvish would likely start Game 3, if necessary, on Thursday. Cease finished the 2025 season with 200-plus strikeouts for the fifth straight season, but all in all, he was a disappointment with a 4.55 ERA (3.56 FIP) and 1.33 WHIP with 71 walks in 168 innings over 32 starts. To close out the regular season, the 29-year-old allowed only a run while striking out eight in five innings against the Milwaukee Brewers last Wednesday, but he had only one quality start in his final eight starts. His lone start against the Cubbies came at home all the way back on April 14, when he allowed three runs (two earned) on seven hits (one homer) while walking one and fanning six in 5 2/3 frames for a no-decision.--Keith Hernandez

Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff did not have his best statistical day against a top-notch defense in his team's Week 4 win over the Cleveland Browns. Goff completed 16 of 27 pass attempts for 168 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. On the season, the 30-year-old has now completed 73.8% of his pass attempts for 929 yards, nine touchdowns, and two interceptions. Goff has shown the potential for gaudy touchdown totals over the past couple of years in this Lions offense, but his lack of rushing ability (11 rushing yards this season) limits his fantasy ceiling. He profiles as a matchup-dependent low-end starter in single-quarterback leagues, and has a favorable matchup on paper in Week 5 against the Cincinnati Bengals.--Will Brady

The Chicago Cubs officially announced on Monday that left-hander Matthew Boyd will start in Game 1 of the Wild-Card series on Tuesday at Wrigley Field against the San Diego Padres, according to Sahadev Sharma of The Athletic. It's not a surprise after rookie right-hander Cade Horton (rib) was placed on the 15-day injured list due to a rib injury. Left-hander Shota Imanaga has struggled down the stretch, but he's likely to get the nod for Wednesday's Game 2. The 34-year-old Boyd was the anchor of Chicago's pitching staff in 2025, going 14-8 with a 3.21 ERA and 1.09 WHIP with 154 strikeouts and 42 walks in 179 2/3 innings over 31 starts as a first-time All-Star. Both of Boyd's outings against San Diego came way back in April, when he gave up only two runs on 11 hits with eight K's and three walks in 11 1/3 innings. However, the Padres as a team had the sixth-best OPS (.801) against lefty pitchers during the regular season.--Keith Hernandez

Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs recorded 97 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown on 17 total touches in his team's Week 4 win over the Cleveland Browns. The 23-year-old has now logged 271 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 58 carries to go along with 20 catches for 79 yards through four games. Gibbs has also out-touched fellow Lions running back David Montgomery in all four of Detroit's games so far in 2025. As long as he stays healthy, Gibbs should remain a must-start fantasy running back.--Will Brady

Denver Broncos wide receiver Marvin Mims Jr. (hip) was a late addition to the Week 4 injury report on Saturday after he was limited in practice, and he entered Monday night's matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals with a questionable tag. However, Mims has been cleared and will be active in Week 4 as the Broncos look to even their record at 2-2. The 23-year-old former second-rounder took a step forward in his sophomore year in 2024, catching 39 of 52 targets for 503 yards and six touchdowns in 17 regular-season games. However, Mims has been the WR3 through three weeks in 2025 behind Courtland Sutton and Troy Franklin in a Broncos offense that has started slow for the second straight year. He enters Monday night with six catches on 10 targets for 40 yards and a touchdown. Mims can break loose for big plays at any moment, though, and he'll be facing a Bengals defense that he torched for 103 yards and two touchdowns in the regular-season finale in 2024.--Keith Hernandez

An MRI exam on Monday confirmed that Los Angeles Chargers offensive tackle Joe Alt (ankle) suffered a high-ankle sprain in Sunday's Week 4 loss to the New York Giants, sources told Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Alt will seek multiple opinions on his injury, but he's expected to be out for several weeks. The 22-year-old was carted off on Sunday, but initial X-rays came back negative. Alt had moved from right tackle to left tackle after Rashawn Slater's season-ending knee injury. The loss of Alt, even though it's only for several weeks, is a big deal, as the Chargers will be down to third-stringer Austin Deculus protecting quarterback Justin Herbert's blind side. Fantasy managers should still consider Herbert a must-start QB1 in a plus Week 5 matchup against the Washington Commanders, but his protection on the left side will be worth watching.--Keith Hernandez

The Arizona Cardinals signed running back Michael Carter to their active roster on Monday, according to Dani Sureck of AZCardinals.com. Carter played in his first game with the Cardinals this year in last Thursday night's loss to the Seattle Seahawks now that James Conner (ankle) is out for the year, but he had just one carry for one yard. The 26-year-old former New York Jets RB will continue to provide depth in Arizona's backfield, and he could be in line for a bigger role in Week 5 against the Tennessee Titans if Trey Benson (undisclosed) is out or limited at all. Benson came down with an apparent injury in Week 4 and is considered day-to-day right now. If Benson were to miss any time, Emari Demercado would be the next man up for the Cardinals in the lead-back role.--Keith Hernandez

Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski would not answer directly on Monday when asked if he is sticking with veteran Joe Flacco as the team's starting quarterback, according to Scott Petrak of Browns Zone. It's not about one person. There are so many things that we need to do better, and obviously, the quarterback included, but this is not about one person," Stefanski said. The 40-year-old Flacco has not looked good through four weeks, and the Browns rank tied for 30th in the NFL with 14 points a game after their blowout loss to the Detroit Lions in Week 4. Flacco has thrown six interceptions and lost two fumbles. He completed just 47.1% of his 34 pass attempts on Sunday for 184 yards, two picks, and a 39.3 passer rating. Dillon Gabriel, a third-round rookie, has played late in two blowout losses and would be next in line to start if Flacco is eventually benched. Deshaun Watson (Achilles) isn't anywhere close to returning to practice and isn't expected to play in 2025.--Keith Hernandez

Dallas Cowboys running back Miles Sanders (ankle) is trending toward being able to play against the New York Jets on Sunday, according to head coach Brian Schottenheimer. The head coach also said that rookie running back Jaydon Blue is "very close" to making his NFL debut after being a healthy scratch for the first four weeks of the season. Schottenheimer also said that Sanders' injury will play a part in discussions for potentially activating Phil Mafah (shoulder) from Injured Reserve if the team feels they need more backfield insurance. Sanders left the Sunday night tie against the Green Bay Packers in the second quarter with an ankle injury and did not return, but it looks like he avoided a serious injury. He's been the change-of-pace RB2 behind starter Javonte Williams. Sanders' injury may open the door enough for Blue to seize an opportunity in Dallas' backfield once and for all in 2025.--Keith Hernandez

When asked specifically about running back Trey Benson (undisclosed), Arizona Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon called him "day-to-day" on Monday and noted that there will be more when the first injury report of the week comes out on Wednesday, according to Howard Balzer of Cards Wire. Benson apparently picked up an injury in last Thursday night's loss to the Seattle Seahawks, but it's unclear whether it will put his status in the air for Week 5 against the Tennessee Titans. The good news is that Arizona has extra time off since its last game. The 23-year-old disappointed in Week 4 in his first game as the lead back following James Conner's (ankle) season-ending injury, as he rushed for only 35 yards on eight carries and caught five passes for 19 yards. Benson will be a must-start against the winless Titans if he's active this week. If his injury is serious enough to keep him out, Emari Demercado would become the Cardinals' top backfield option.--Keith Hernandez

Dallas Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer said that wide receiver CeeDee Lamb and offensive lineman Tyler Booker, who are both recovering from high-ankle sprains, are "trending in the right direction," according to Tommy Yarrish of DallasCowboys.com. Schottenheimer added that as things stand, the team doesn't plan on putting either Lamb or Booker on Injured Reserve, but they reserve the right to change their minds. If Lamb or Booker were put on IR, they'd be forced to miss at least four games. Even if Lamb is not put on IR, the 26-year-old All-Pro wideout could miss multiple weeks after missing his first game in Sunday night's overtime tie to the Green Bay Packers. Fantasy managers must remain patient with Lamb and hope he can avoid IR and return sooner rather than later. In the meantime, George Pickens, who went over 100 yards with two TDs on Sunday night, will be Dallas' clear WR1. Jalen Tolbert saw an expanded role in Week 4, too, and is worth a short-term waiver pickup for those looking for wideout reinforcements with bye weeks starting in Week 5.--Keith Hernandez

New York Jets wide receiver Tyler Johnson is a healthy inactive for the Week 4 divisional contest on Monday Night Football, according to Susanna Weir of NewYorkJets.com. Johnson will head to the bench with Josh Reynolds returning from a hamstring injury that kept him out in Weeks 2 and 3. It's not as if Johnson took advantage of Reynolds' absence, as he caught only two passes on four targets for 32 yards and no touchdowns in two games. He didn't even catch a pass on one target in the Week 2 loss to the Buffalo Bills. Reynolds will return as receiver depth alongside Allen Lazard, Arian Smith, and Isaiah Williams for the Jets behind clear No. 1 Garrett Wilson. For fantasy purposes, nobody besides Wilson is startable on a weekly basis among the Jets' receivers. Johnson has only four receptions for 63 yards and no scores in three games so far in 2025.--Keith Hernandez

The New York Giants officially placed wide receiver Malik Nabers (knee) on Injured Reserve on Monday after he suffered a season-ending torn ACL in the Week 4 win over the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday, according to Jordan Raanan of ESPN. It's a crushing blow to both the Giants and fantasy managers alike. Those in single-year leagues can safely drop Nabers to the waiver wire this week and add reinforcements. With the 22-year-old former first-rounder out the rest of the way, the G-Men will ask all of Wan'Dale Robinson, Darius Slayton, and Jalin Hyatt to step up as their top three receivers for rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart. Tight end Theo Johnson should also see an uptick in targets in the passing game. Robinson should already be rostered in most leagues, but Slayton will be a popular pickup this week. Nabers will finish with 18 catches on 35 targets for 271 yards and two touchdowns in his second NFL season. Since the injury happened early in the year, Nabers should have a good chance at being ready to go for Week 1 of 2026 next fall.--Keith Hernandez

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy (toe) did not practice on the estimated practice report on Monday due to more soreness in his toe, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Purdy returned after a two-week absence in the Week 4 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars due to turf toe and an AC joint sprain in his shoulder, but he reported more soreness in his toe after the game and could be in danger of missing the next game this Thursday night against the division-rival Los Angeles Rams on a quick turnaround. Meanwhile, backup QB Mac Jones (knee) was listed as a full participant on Monday. If Purdy doesn't get clearance to play in Week 5, Jones would make his third start of 2025. Purdy went 22-for-38 for 309 yards, two touchdowns, and two picks in the loss on Sunday and also lost a crucial fumble late in the game. Even if Purdy suits up on Thursday and starts, he'll be more in the QB2 tier against a tough opponent while likely being less than 100%.--Keith Hernandez

Washington Commanders wide receivers Terry McLaurin (quadriceps) and Noah Brown (groin) are "trending up," according to head coach Dan Quinn. They still have work to do after both missing the Week 4 loss to the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, but "things are trending in the right direction," according to Zach Selby of Commanders.com. Brown has the last two games after he was injured in Week 2. The 30-year-old McLaurin is the one who matters in fantasy, though, and he did not practice at all last week before being ruled out in Week 4. It sounds like he's making progress, but we won't know until later this week if he has a realistic shot at returning in Week 5 on the road against the Los Angeles Chargers. Quarterback Jayden Daniels (knee) is eyeing a return this week, too, so it's possible Washington's offense could be getting two of its best players back. With McLaurin out in Week 4, Deebo Samuel Sr. expectedly led in receiving, while Luke McCaffrey caught a touchdown for the second straight week.--Keith Hernandez

Chicago Bulls executive vice president Arturas Karnisovas stated Monday that guard Coby White (calf) will be limited in training camp, K.C. Johnson of Chicago Sports Network reports. White sustained a calf strain in August. Karnisovas hopes the 25-year-old will be cleared to play by the end of the preseason. Once available, White should have a significant role in the Bulls' rotation. He averaged a career-high 20.4 points, 4.5 assists and 3.7 rebounds while shooting 37.0 percent from beyond the arc during 74 contests last season.--Andrew Lennox
