Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen Out Week-to-Week
Buffalo Sabres goaltender Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen (lower body) will likely be unavailable for opening night next week. The team has tagged Luukkonen as week-to-week after he suffered a lower-body injury in Wednesday's preseason matchup against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Luukkonen sat out the start of training camp with a separate lower-body problem and was playing his first preseason game on Wednesday night. With Luukkonen unavailable, the Sabres are set to start the season with a goalie tandem of Alex Lyon and Alexandar Georgiev. Lyon appears to be the likely starter, considering Georgiev's poor performance last season.
