The St. Louis Cardinals announced on Monday that they activated first baseman/outfielder
Alec Burleson (wrist) from the 10-day injured list and designated infielder/outfielder Garrett Hampon for assignment in a corresponding move. The Cardinals have yet to release their starting lineup for Monday's series opener in Seattle against the Mariners, but Burleson should be in it. Burleson is back in 10 days after recovering from right-wrist inflammation and should return to a regular role all over the diamond for the Red Birds in the final month of the regular season. The 26-year-old left-handed hitter has been one of the more consistent bats for the Cards this year, and he'll be returning to a .286/.337/.451 slash line with a .788 OPS, 16 home runs, 60 RBI, 47 runs and five steals in 122 games. Burleson is six homers from setting a new career high.

The Chicago Cubs placed right-handed reliever
Daniel Palencia (shoulder) on the 15-day injured list on Monday with a right-shoulder strain and recalled pitcher
Ethan Roberts from the minors in a corresponding move, according to Maddie Lee of the Chicago Sun-Times. Palencia didn't retire any of the five batters he faced in Sunday's series finale against the Washington Nationals and took his third blown save of the season before the team announced he had shoulder tightness. There's a good chance that the hard-throwing 25-year-old closer won't be able to rejoin Chicago's bullpen before the end of the regular season, although the Cubs will surely be hoping he can return for the postseason in October. With Palencia on the shelf for at least two weeks, fantasy managers should look for right-hander
Brad Keller to take over closing duties on the North Side.

Pete Crow-Armstrong (knee) is back in the starting lineup for Monday's series opener against the hosting Atlanta Braves, serving as the designated hitter and batting cleanup against right-hander

Willi Castro is in center field and will hit sixth. Crow-Armstrong fouled a ball off his right knee in Saturday's loss to the Washington Nationals at Wrigley Field and sat out of Sunday's series finale as a result. The 23-year-old All-Star is back in the lineup to begin the week, though, and will look to stay hot at the plate after going 4-for-9 with a double, two RBI, a steal and three runs scored in four games to start September. Barring a setback with his knee, PCA should return to defensive work in center field for the Cubbies sooner than later. Fantasy managers will want to get Crow-Armstrong back in their lineups.

Kyle Tucker (calf) remains absent from the starting lineup for Monday's series opener in Atlanta against the Braves at Truist Park.
Seiya Suzuki will man right field and bat third against Braves right-hander
Bryce Elder. Tucker is missing his fifth straight start due to tightness in his left calf. Manager Craig Counsell said that Tucker looked to be improving on Sunday, but the Cubs arent't ruling out a stint on the injured list if he cannot return to action soon. The good news for the Cubs is they are getting outfielder
Pete Crow-Armstrong back after he fouled a ball off his knee on Saturday against the Washington Nationals. The 28-year-old Tucker was in a slump in the midst of August but was swinging the bat well once again just before he injured his calf. If he's forced to the IL, there's a chance we won't see Tucker again until the postseason in October.

The Atlanta Braves announced on Monday that they placed catcher
Sean Murphy (hip) on the 10-day injured list with a right-hip labral tear and selected the contract of catcher
Sandy Leon from Triple-A Gwinnett in a corresonding move. The injury will sideline Murphy for the rest of the regular season, and Leon will take over backup duties behind impressive rookie
Drake Baldwin. The 30-year-old Murphy is expected to undergo surgery on his hip that will keep him sidelined for roughly four months this offseason. It's an injury that Murphy had been dealing with sporadically for the last three years, so he has decided to get it taken care with Atlanta's playoff hopes out the window. The former All-Star has now hit under .200 in back-to-back seasons, although he now has 47 home runs and 138 RBI in his three seasons with Atlanta.

The Philadelphia Phillies are placing shortstop
Trea Turner (hamstring) on the 10-day injured list on Monday with a hamstring strain, according to Matt Gelb of The Athletic. The New York Post's Jon Heyman is reporting that the Phillies "seem hopeful" that Turner might be back for the playoffs, and even potentially right before. With the 32-year-old going on the shelf after getting hurt in Sunday's loss to the Miami Marlins, first baseman
Bryce Harper will lead off for the Phils in Monday's series opener against the division-rival New York Mets. With Turner unlikely to play again in the 2025 regular season, fantasy managers in single-year leagues can now drop him for a replacement.
Edmundo Sosa is starting at the 6 in Turner's place on Monday and should see the majority of starts at the position with Turner out for the remainder of September.

Kansas City Royals shortstop
Bobby Witt Jr. (back) will miss his third straight game in Monday's series opener against the division-rival Cleveland Guardians at Progressive Field.
Maikel Garcia will make another start at shortstop for the Royals and will hit second against Guardians right-hander
Slade Cecconi. Witt is managing lower-back spasms and is considered day-to-day, so fantasy managers will need to keep him benched and check back on Tuesday to see if he's able to return. An injured list stint can't be ruled out for the 25-year-old, though, if he's unable to get back into the lineup sometime soon. That would be a major blow to KC's chances of earning a wild-card spot in the American League, as Witt has been excellent again in 2025 with a .294/.352/.503 slash line, .855 OPS, 21 home runs, 77 RBI, 90 runs and 34 steals in his 545 at-bats.

Washington Nationals infield/outfield prospect Phillip Glasser is getting promoted to Triple-A Rochester. The former 10th-round draft pick had a fantastic season at Double-A, where he led the entire Eastern League in hits (125), while finishing in the top four in batting average (.293) and on-base percentage (.379). Thanks to a very low 11.2 percent strikeout rate, the left-handed slugger was able to draw nearly as many walks (52) as he had strikeouts (55), while also stealing 30 bases in 112 games. The 25-year-old will get to spend the final two weeks of the season at Rochester, which is where he'll presumably start 2026. Glasser is not listed in the team's top 30 prospects, but nevertheless, could find himself in the big leagues at some point next year.

Philadelphia Phillies infield prospect
Aroon Escobar is headed to Double-A Reading. The Phils' fifth-ranked prospect began the season at Single-A, earning himself a promotion to High-A in early July. Although Escobar's batting average stands at just .256 after 46 games at High-A, he was hitting much better as of late, producing a .299 batting average over his last 22 games while belting four home runs and stealing eight bases during that time. On the season, the 20-year-old has authored a .274/.366/.420 slash line with 15 home runs and 24 steals. Dynasty managers should be on alert, as the right-handed hitting Venezuelan could blossom into even more power, and combined with his hit tool and his speed, Escobar could be in the majors much sooner than expected.

Philadelphia Phillies outfield prospect
Dante Nori is getting promoted to Double-A Reading after just 11 games at High-A Jersey Shore. The Phils' sixth-ranked prospect spent most of 2025 at Single-A Clearwater, posting similar ratios during his short stint at High-A. All in all, Nori owns a .264/.366/.376 slash line with nearly as many walks (74) as strikeouts (83), and he also swiped 50 bases in 120 games. It will be interesting to see how the 2024 first-rounder fares at the upper levels of the minors and whether or not he develops some additional power. If he does, there would be even more intrigue from a fantasy perspective, and he's certainly become a prospect to watch in dynasty formats.

Miami Marlins outfielder
Kyle Stowers (oblique) has returned to Miami to be re-evaluated on Monday after he was unable to play for Triple-A Jacksonville on his minor-league rehab assignment the last two days, according to Isaac Izaout of Fish On First. Stowers started his rehab assignment with the Jumbo Shrimp on Friday night but was held out on Saturday and Sunday due to fatigue after going 0-for-3 as the designated hitter. The 27-year-old breakout star has been on the 10-day injured list since the middle of August, and it's unclear if he's had a setback with his strained oblique or if he's dealing with another issue, but his availability for the remainder of the 2025 season is now firmly in question. For the time being,
Joey Wiemer should continue to see most of the playing time in right field in Miami, with
Victor Mesa Jr. also being an option for more starts in the outfield.

Seattle Mariners pitching prospect Ryan Sloan (eye) underwent a procedure on his eye that will keep him out two to three weeks, ending his season. The Mariners' fifth-ranked prospect began the year at Single-A, where he showed well, pitching to a 3.44 ERA (2.91 FIP), 1.15 WHIP, and a 21.8 percent K-BB%, while allowing just two home runs in the 70 2/3 innings he pitched. That performance earned him a promotion to High-A, where things did not go quite as smoothly, posting a 5.56 ERA (4.86 FIP), 1.24 WHIP, and three home runs in 11 1/3 innings pitched. Notably, though, the 6-foot-5 hurler did not walk any batters in his three starts there, recording a 13:0 K:BB. The 19-year-old is expected to be ready to go next spring, although it will likely be a couple of years before we see him in the majors.

Milwaukee Brewers infield prospect
Jesus Made was promoted to Double-A Biloxi on Monday after a highly successful 2025 campaign that began at Single-A and saw him move to High-A in early August. The Brewers' top-ranked prospect (MLB No.5) played well at Single-A, including 40 steals in 83 games, but flourished at High-A, where he slashed .343/.415/.500 with a .426 wOBA and 157 wRC+ across 27 games there. The 18-year-old will be one of only two players that young at Double-A, with the other being the Athletics' top prospect (MLB No. 3)
Leodalis De Vries. The 6-foot-1 Dominican possesses plus hit, power, and run tools, giving him the profile of a future multi-category fantasy producer, and he should be stashed away in dynasty leagues.

However, the Cubs are playing it safe with their All-Star center fielder and could keep him out a second straight game in Monday's series opener at the Atlanta Braves. The 23-year-old fouled a ball off his kneecap on Saturday and had to leave early. "PCA came in actually feeling pretty good," manager Craig Counsell said before Sunday's loss. "He's still a little sore today, but we're going to get him moving around today, which is a good sign. We'll see how that feels." While Crow-Armstrong might sit on Monday, he doesn't appear to be in danger of going on the injured list.
