The Philadelphia Phillies are placing shortstop Trea Turner (hamstring) on the 10-day injured list on Monday with a hamstring strain, according to Matt Gelb of The Athletic. The New York Post's Jon Heyman is reporting that the Phillies "seem hopeful" that Turner might be back for the playoffs, and even potentially right before. With the 32-year-old going on the shelf after getting hurt in Sunday's loss to the Miami Marlins, first baseman Bryce Harper will lead off for the Phils in Monday's series opener against the division-rival New York Mets. With Turner unlikely to play again in the 2025 regular season, fantasy managers in single-year leagues can now drop him for a replacement. Edmundo Sosa is starting at the 6 in Turner's place on Monday and should see the majority of starts at the position with Turner out for the remainder of September. UPDATE: Turner was diagnosed with a Grade 1, according to manager Rob Thomson. It's less severe than the Grade 2 strain he dealt with in 2024.--Keith Hernandez
