Bobby Witt Jr. Still Out for Series Opener Against Cleveland
Bobby Witt Jr. (back) will miss his third straight game in Monday's series opener against the division-rival Cleveland Guardians at Progressive Field. Maikel Garcia will make another start at shortstop for the Royals and will hit second against Guardians right-hander Slade Cecconi. Witt is managing lower-back spasms and is considered day-to-day, so fantasy managers will need to keep him benched and check back on Tuesday to see if he's able to return. An injured list stint can't be ruled out for the 25-year-old, though, if he's unable to get back into the lineup sometime soon. That would be a major blow to KC's chances of earning a wild-card spot in the American League, as Witt has been excellent again in 2025 with a .294/.352/.503 slash line, .855 OPS, 21 home runs, 77 RBI, 90 runs and 34 steals in his 545 at-bats.
