Nick Madrigal Not In Saturday's Lineup
1 year agoChicago Cubs infielder Nick Madrigal will start on the pine for Saturday's contest against the visiting Baltimore Orioles. It appears to just be a normal day of rest for Madrigal, who has gone 5-for-15 with two RBI in his last five games. The 26-year-old hasn't really panned out in the big leagues after the Chicago White Sox took him fourth overall in the 2018 draft out of Oregon State. He's spent some time in the minors this year and has played in just 41 games for the Cubbies, hitting a mediocre .248 (28-for-113) with three doubles, a triple, no home runs, 11 RBI, three steals and 15 runs scored in 125 trips to the plate. Madrigal is not a mixed-league fantasy asset. Miles Mastrobuoni is starting at the hot corner Saturday and is hitting in the nine-hole against Orioles right-hander Kyle Gibson.
