Minnesota Twins designated hitter Nelson Cruz (wrist) is not in the lineup for the nightcap of Thursday's doubleheader versus the Los Angeles Angels. Cruz was hit on the wrist by a pitch during the matinee game and was checked on by the trainer and manager Rocco Baldelli, though he stayed in the game. The Twins are calling it a wrist contusion and viewing it as a day-to-day situation. It doesn't sound like something that will keep Cruz out for an extended period of time. Josh Donaldson will get a breather from the field and serve as the designated hitter, with Luis Arraez getting the start at third base.--Tim Capurso
