Mike Scott Drops Season-High 21 Points In First Start Of Year

Without center Joel Embiid in the mix, the Philadelphia 76ers tabbed power forward Mike Scott to enter the starting five for Saturday’s rout of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Scott set a new season high by logging 24 minutes, in which he went 9-for-12 from the floor overall, including 3-for-5 from long range, ultimately finishing with 21 points, also a season high. Having established himself as a consistent bench cog for the Sixers -- who has played between 15 and 23 minutes in each of the team’s prior 19 games -- Scott’s strong performance was likely just a one-night boost without Embiid. The All-Star center is expected to return for Sunday’s contest against Toronto, but should anything change, Scott would be in a golden position for a DFS play.
